It seems N8 is massively more versatile than N6 - or is it that Domestic are being lazy and World are making an effort?
Lets hope Domestic get dumped in studio A at BH, its not like they need a newsroom behind them a green screen will do and would save electricity.
Also, as has been said already... it's a 5-studio Suite. So all output can theoretically share all studios depending on their requirement. So we could see Impact from B, World News Today from E etc...
I think also playing Musical Studios will benefit Domestic as it will break the monotony for the staff at least. They should also bring in some World style branded programming to the evenings... IDK... The World at Five with Huw Edwards? ...Tonight with Sian Williams?
Not a fan of N8 at all - although they try to make it flexible, it's not a versatile space at all. For example, I don't like the fact that the presenters on Newsday and Impact sit behind the Barco wall, because you may as well be behind a green screen and turn the studio off, saving power! Some of the camera shots are also quite dark, and the side view with the presenter and Barco in shot tends to look uncomfortable too. Was a good space back in it's day but am very much looking forward to seeing World News in a superb looking new space.

Think it's that domestic are being lazy. N6 can produce some rather nice camera angles and the Barcos could be put to much better use but they very rarely do anything that's not the norm!
Think something that would benefit N8 is getting rid of the platform that the desk is on, and the desk itself, and replace it with a similar desk to N6/N9. As well as that, replace the red lighting around the newsroom and on the front of the desk with multi-coloured LEDs so that they don't have to pretend the rest of the studio is non existant because it's red!

I'm pretty sure the lights around the top of the barcos are LEDs anyway, they can change them from red to white, and I've definitely seen them yellow in the past when they've shown a massive image (I think something to do with space) on the barco screens.
The point on what would benefit N8 is moot as the only thing they're going to do to alter N8 in the near future is to strike the set and put those Barco Screens on Ebay.

Is it lazyness - or is it differing staffing levels between the News Channel a licence fee funded service and BBC World which is more of a commercial service isn't it? Not sure you can compare them like for like.

Yes, I know it's a bit late now - but I've always though they should have done that back in February 2010 when the new shows were introduced!

And one channel has a peak audience at the same time every day, while the other has a peak audience somewhere all day every day.

You can't get rid of the platform (although you could replace it), as it serves the same purpose as the baking trays in N6/TC7 - to raise the desk / seats up to get usable camera angles.

World has to compete in a very crowded global news market against many other competing services like Aljazeera, CNNi etc... They have to put their best foot forward and make themselves stand out from the competition (which they seem to be doing quite successfully.)
BBC News Domestic simply doesn't need to compete. They are and will always be the Number 1 watched news channel in the UK by default, so the importance is not on how they present themselves and more focussed on what they are presenting, which is why they probably look Lazy to us interested in Television Presentation.
...and why some of the presenters (not naming names but begin with "B" and end with "en Brown") can put you to sleep... whilst others on World can be chirpy and happy at 3am... I think Kasia Madera must have a coffee machine and a fridge full of Red Bull under that desk. She makes the exuberant Rico Hizon look positively sedate.

I think it might make it look better and if the coloured panel in the desk could change colour depending on the Program, such as yellow for Impact and Pink for the Hub, it could add more individuality for each program.
Also would N8 be better if it was like TC7, where there is a different desk for each program. I know it would be impossible for Studio Turnarounds, but would it look good?

I don't think a different desk for each programme is necessary/adds much to the programme.
However, a N6 Style desk with colour changeable panels would be a good idea as it would tie it in to its surroundings better

I'm pretty sure we know what the desks will be like, we've seen them at Salford and at Millbank over the last few months. Black Glass top with a thin metal trim around the edge, and the ability to change the bottom half depending on the programme.
