Red DOG is on screen at the moment, but minus the BBC World News white text. So at the moment, we have the ticker chugging it's way into a red rectangle.

It was ok during the news a moment ago. Now we're with Salford and Sport Today.

the News channel I would assume would be operational from W1 by April next year.

The News Channel should be operational and broadcasting in W1 from February 2013

Sure Babita just said now all the business news, here's Asia Business report, instead they're showing India Business report, just a small "Error"!

Edit: Maybe I misheard as Babita just said "And we'll be right back after a look at the latest headlines",
I take it that means no sport today tonight then.

Bit bored today, so I thought I'd take some random caps. Makes me wonder if BBC News Channel viewers would rather watch BBC World News during the week due to the various bulletin formats and not everything being from the same seats of the same tiny little N6 lol.

That raises the question of how many people actually pay attention to the set of 24 hours news channels?

I for one, unless there's some big event going on, in which case they won't be showing the studio anyway, normally only have them on in the background, looking over if / when something comes on that interests me, and therefore don't notice or care whether the presenters are sat behind the same desk as normal, or doing a handstand on top of a Gladiators style podium.

Either way, if the tidbits of information we keep getting leaked are true, we'll be seeing the same thing on the news channel when the move to W1 is complete, as different hours will come from the most suitable studio for that programme, not from that channels' particular studio base (as there won't be studio's assigned to channels).

I have to say I do very much like how all the differing programmes do at least visually in the set and colours look different and distinct. It must do wonders in breaking up the monotony of a news channels schedule for viewers and businesses where it's on 24/7.

I do think the 1, 6 and 10 should have slightly differing titles (similar to 1999 where it was all kept in the same theme but slightly different) to break it up a bit. I also think more should be made of the 5 o'clock hour.

I'm going to miss N8 when World moves to BH. As mentioned before, with all it's camera and lighting variations, it's a rather sexy news studio at the moment.

You well know what I mean........it's a broadcasting term, apparently. LOL.

But I won't miss that pod much.

Not a fan of N8 at all - although they try to make it flexible, it's not a versatile space at all. For example, I don't like the fact that the presenters on Newsday and Impact sit behind the Barco wall, because you may as well be behind a green screen and turn the studio off, saving power! Some of the camera shots are also quite dark, and the side view with the presenter and Barco in shot tends to look uncomfortable too. Was a good space back in it's day but am very much looking forward to seeing World News in a superb looking new space.

That's not the first time you've referred to it as such; you don't think this infatuation with BBC World News is becoming unhealthy do you, er, BBC WORLD? Wink
