What times are the weekend evening (UK time) sports updates? I'm wondering if they could end up clashing with BBC1 bulletins

Could the NC opt out of weekend BBC One National bulletins for a longer sports update, or Sport Today?

I thought the point was they can only produce one feed out of the 'Sports Centre', which will be providing sport for BBC World News, the BBC News Channel and weekend BBC One bulletins. Therefore if BBC World News' 'Sport Today' overlapped with a BBC One weekend bulletin, one of them wouldn't get their sports news.

Though, that said, do we know for sure they can't use another gallery somewhere else at Salford? Or that one feed couldn't be produced a gallery in London with a Salford-based presenter and studio? And, also, does everything always need to be live? A BBC One sports update is pretty rehearsed - it's not like it's going to be full of breaking news.

In another thread (sorry can't remember which - they are numerous) it has been suggested that the other studio can be used as a down the line contribution with the London gallery playing out clips. This would make sense as it would ensure that in the event of any communication/connectivtiy problems to/from Salford the news presenter in London would be able to link to each item as I think the script would be available in London anyway.

Line to Singapore just dropped out during Asia Business Report, Babita is padding from London

Bit of an error just there during Asia Business Report.
First we saw a green "Weak Signal", followed by "No Signal" with a quick shuffle of microphones (Presumable Babaita having to get back to the desk).

All handled very well though.

Noticed that too, I was surprised the report stopped though, I kind of assumed that they would be played from London and the only thing to be sent would be the live pictures of Rico. (Quite new to this despite being registered for 3 years)

I also noticed they showed a report which featured a graphic on screen whilst thy were playing an audio clip of a telephone interview and the graphic had a rotating phone symbol - next to the caller's name - never seen that before.

Sport Today coming from the pod in N8 - with the old titles, crashing in from a report.

Things not going well for Newsday these past couple of days have they?
Link to Singapore has been lost again but this time with an apology from Babita before we got put across to Singapore.

Now they've just gone back to the US elections in Washington.

Just what is going on with their satellite link to Singapore this week? This is becoming ridiculous. Didn't help that a report on Chinese ministers' cars just failed, either. I just hope we don't end up with fifteen minutes of Kasia padding if they don't get back for Asia Business Report...
