World currently airing a recorded edition of Impact with Tim Willcox.

I note the NC is also having issues according to Twitter.

What’s happened?

Looks like there's currently no estimate for when this will be fixed. Should be interesting if it's not fixed in time for the News at Six.

Theres enough time to work up a number of contingency plans by then should it not be.

Ben was reading from scripts from before the weather at 14:30 but they managed to stay live until 15:00, including a normal sports bulletin from Salford where the autocue seemed to be working normally (also a highly extended weather at 14:30 probably because the weather presenters are used to working without autocue). Presumably this means they could put out limited live content if they had enough gallery staff. Alternatively the six could come from Salford or Millbank which are on different systems.

Is Open Media software handling playouts and VT clips??? If the whole server is down I assume that even if they switch studios or decamp to elsewhere like Millbank they won't be able to have news clips running? On the other hand, I thought the content in the news ticker is also handled by Open Media... How come the ticker is not broken???

That recorded graphic isn’t great, it’s a little bit obstructing.

When it comes to the 6 O'Clock News, if the system is down, we will have to have something a little more low fi. Go to an alternate studio. Read out the news without packages. Bring in journalists and guests to answer questions, or explain the stories. Make use of the local news resources.

I think it has to be that long in order to cover up the ‘LIVE’ location tag, which could be any length.
