I think they they've tried to do a BBC News 24, but it dosen't always work as well, for the simple reason, there tends to be too long a pause, and then the weather sort of fades in as well, so that's the reason it dosen't look right.

The World weather titles were great... This BBC World renewal is getting quite annoying.

Yes they were great, too be honest I thought they would at least keep the weather titles, as it was used as a slot for sponsorship.

They've been getting much better at it lately. I haven't noticed any fades, just straight cuts.

I saw David Eades on ExtraTime... I don't usually watch ExtraTime but I had never seen him hosting it. Is he a regular presenter?

Not really, but before David became an anchor on BBC World News, he was, amongst other things, one of the BBC's Sports Correspondents. He has also been Ireland Correspondent for a very brief period, and Europe Correspondent. He formerly appeared much more on BBC's domestic and N24 services in the UK, before joining BBC World as an anchor.

Another interesting "twist" of late has been the recruitment of Aaron Heslehurst from WBR and Business News, to the team of presenters on "Fast-track", the BBC World Travel Programme. Aaron presents a regular weekly slot pertaining to the world of air travel.

So, these normally "desk bound" guys DO in actual fact get around!!

When I watched Extra Time the other day with David Eades... I find it much easier to listen to him rather than boring old rob bonnet.

Well, can anyone tell me (if you could Remember) the mottos that BBC World had used like: Putting News First. Any others?

Personally I think News 24 could do with some sort of weather sting, but the live crossovers do work quite well - sadly only to be seen every few hours. The place where it is most needed is after a feature programme.

Anyone remember the set of stings introduced into the domestic weather forecasts in 2000 - dropped soon after? Hopefully the new graphics will include something similar.

I think stings in general would work with BBC News 24, when they do the full analysis of the business and sport.

Is Lucy Hockings now the main presenter of TWT? Haven't seen David Eades or Sally Bundock on TWT or WBR for a while now.

David Eades and Sally Bundock usually present TWT from Monday to Wednesday, sometimes Monday to Thursday. Lucy Hockings has been presenting TWT on Friday for several weeks.

Is BBC World currently airing a joint service bulletin? I ask because we're not getting the normal rotating globe tower at the moment, but the block image that gets used to cover up the N24 tower on overnights...
