Who is the blonde woman in the BBC World-Putting News First advert? I hate her, the BBC should fire her NOW.
This cortomalt(bleep) kid is getting on my nerves....
To his credit though, I think he probably knows that influenza and flu are one and the same.

She is Emily Buchanan - a highly respected World Affairs Correspondent and News Editor.
She is possibly considered as one of the BBC's best journalists, and, contrary to your comments above, she should not and will not be fired now!

Well she should have never lent herself to those disturbing adverts. They're rubbish.

Yes I have noticed this myself, it must only be a matter of time I think as it could be the case, that World may be tweaking the software to their own presentation requirements, hence we are still watching the old 'TOG' in action.

Has anyone else noticed that the BBC World ticker has been stuttering a lot on Wednesday? Every few seconds, it seems to freeze for about half a second. Will BBC World's TOG be upgraded like News 24's was, which supposedly has a much smoother ticker?

Personally I think News 24 could do with some sort of weather sting, but the live crossovers do work quite well - sadly only to be seen every few hours. The place where it is most needed is after a feature programme.
Anyone remember the set of stings introduced into the domestic weather forecasts in 2000 - dropped soon after? Hopefully the new graphics will include something similar.

I think they they've tried to do a BBC News 24, but it dosen't always work as well, for the simple reason, there tends to be too long a pause, and then the weather sort of fades in as well, so that's the reason it dosen't look right.
