Overnight news in World today... anyone know why.

I taped the last bulletin and when Alistair was doing an interview I looked at the background into the newsroom and noticed how fake it looked although it did look good. Anyway I was looking to the right hand side and noticed that there was something that I first thought was a mirror to make the newsroom look bigger and I was right, and I know because I was looking at it and noticed a person walking past and i rewound the tape and noticed that the lady walking past could be seen on both sides walking at the same speed. look Smile
I also noticed that one of the circular lights on the ceiling are either blown or no light bulb in it!!

You obviously haven't heard of Maude and Petunia, the Siamese twins who look after the guest booking on BBC World

Yeah, It know but no along that side because they had the red panels with tv screens in them.

Just noticed on the breakfiller that BBC World is today celebrating its 10th anniversary of first transmission. That isn't strictly true, as a BBC international news channel has existed since 1991 (once called BBC World Service Television), but it is 10 years ago today since it was relaunched as "BBC World".

Some cock-ups/odd stuff today on BBC World.
I don't know who was doing the 0800-1200GMT shift, anyway at 12.25 I saw Martine Dennis in the newsroom announcing World Business Report coming up in a few moments. Then at 12.30 the news summary was presented by Keshini Navaratnam who has been cut off by the BBC World sting introducing World Business Report. But after that there has been no edition of WBR, instead we returned to an extensive coverage (I don't know about what, I had to go) with Keshini Navaratnam. And now, at 1300, David Jessel is in the newsroom.

Martine was on her usual 0800-1200 shift, and presumably David Jessel was delayed for some reason, and could only get there for 1300. So, Martine did an extra bulletin, and Keshini took over in the interim, as she was in work for Asia Today.
