Does anyone know if the current use of Darshini David and Aaron Heslehurst on Biz News and WBR is to continue as a permanent replacement for Dominic di Natale, or is the latter likely to return in a freelance capacity? I haven't seen much of him at all in his supposed new move to Sky News.

Managed to catch a few episodes of Business Today (??) on News 24 in the UK last week, double headed with Kate Noble in NYC and Manisha Tank in London. I know I've said it several times, but I feel that Manisha Tank should move onto news presentation. She is developing into an excellent and highly watchable broadcaster and is probably worthy of more news exposure on BBC World. More use could be made of Jamie Robertson as a Biz News presenter as a replacement for Manisha.

Why not have Mishal Hussain back presenting WBR? I cannot currently see a slot for her to return to on World, unless the currently much utilised David Jessel will do fewer bulletins.

Peter Coe - bring him back too. Where has he gone?

Seems to me that the very lovely and charming Darshini David has taken the leadership of the daytime business news. She is sometimes replaced by an annoying guy named Mark dont-remember-his-surname and very very rarely by Aaron Heselhurst (I saw him a couple of times anchoring from the London Stock Exchange).
I think Manisha Tank could easily present news bulletins, but I like her on WBR, in particular during the double headed editions.
I'd love to see Mishal Husain back on world.

That's Mark Eddo - he originally presented from the LSE. I think he took that up after Julia Caeser moved to N24 in December 2003.

I know that Jane Sinclair moved to Canada, hence why she stopped presenting World. It seems Darshini has replaced her, but I can't understand why Aaron is on so little these days. Does he do more for Fast Track now?

Ah yes Mark Eddo, remember him from bid-up.tv? He was a reporter for Click Online before leaving for bid-up.

It's an auction channel -- basically, they auction products on the channel, and people ring up to bid money for them. Similar to Ebay but on TV.

I was just wondering when looking at some images on my computer that the newsroom lights were turned on before the graphics relaunch in dec 03, and after that the newsroom cirucluar lights were off after that. correct if Im wrong but did they turn them off to give the newsroom the colour look of there opening title and idents etc. look at my pc below in comparison with the newsroom and graphics.

Ah that's the perfect example of what i've been saying all along, (thanks bbcworld2005) that World turned those lights off, that for me really ruined it, shame because I have no criticism of the old set, just that the lights were turned off, it was so frustrating to watch!

Might seem terrible - but AIUI the presenters on Bid.Up TV are on commission to a degree - so if you are good you can make quite a lot of money, so it may end up being a lot better paid than presenting or reporting for the Beeb.
