I was watching SKY NEWS AUSTRALIA NEW ZEALAND and one half of Australia has entered new year and the have just shown fireworks from Sydney and they also showed Auckland here in NZ and the fireworlks from the sky tower which looked pretty silly.

Nope.. Australia is 2 hours behind us and the other half is 3or 4 hours behind. New Zealand is the first country to begin any day. we are +1300hrsGMT ahead of UK and in our winter we are 12 Hours ahead.. Smile

How long has Lindsey Brancher been working today? When I woke up at 1000GMT she was there ad now, at 1830GMT she is still there...

And she is still there... She has beaten all the records. Do any of you know when she started her shift?

Lindsey did 1000-1930 and was on air for most of that

Well she was great even at the end of that mammoth shift. It seems that Lindsey is very under-valued by BBC World...she's the longest serving presenter, having worked for the channel since 1991, and yet she hasn't got her own regular shift. Even if she has to be a relief presenter, she could at least be used more often - she's far better than some of the other reliefs they use.

Yeah, she's a good broadcaster even if she seems to me a little too severe. Yet I saw her joking with Aaron Heselhurst during a bulletin several months ago, which was quite surprising and funny.

On the contrary, I think Lindsey is very laid-back and easy-going. On many occasions, I've seen her joking with business and sport presenters during the throws.

I agree.. she is wonderful and has a good vibe going with the other presenters.... I taped 6hours of BBC World from 1100GMT - 1700GMT when its set was launched.. and she was on it and before the news began Her and Darshin were having a good old yarn and I remember watching over the tape of the starting titles when it had the shot from the ceiling her mic must of got turned up a bit early.... and you could hair her quite voice saying OK to darshini then she looks to the camera...

I thinks shes good.

I prefer the business sting then a good old yarn Wink

There she is. And she is presenting quite well. Very strange seeing both Manisha and Aaron Heselhurst.
