In was in Europe for 24 hours on 24th Dec and noticed that BBC World in Europe has far far fewer opt outs during the bulletins than we do have here in the Middle East.

As a result, what you are seeing in Europe is far tidier and seamless than what we get down here, which is still heavily disjointed and untidy, plus all those blessed adverts for Qatar Airways every ten seconds!!!!!

Adrian Finighan is doing a good job anchoring today's Breaking News though..........no interuptions from Qatar Airways today.

The averts for Qatar Airways are really awful... I loved the Fly Emirates ones, they were astounding.
Has Adrian Finighan done a good job? I think he hasn't been brilliant, seemed to me that he was a little (sometimes not just a little) uncertain.
Very strange those ten minutes of simulcast with BBC News 24, and a remarkable moment when Mark Embley, who was talking to someone on the phone, just remaind silent and the man on the phone cried angrily "hello!?".

It's MIKE Embley.

Initially I thought that Adrian was pretty grim today and din't seem to have any facts. However, as the time progressed, he had it all well under control and presented with authority and informatively.

Of course! I don't know why I wrote Mark...

Could you enlighten us a bit more on the nature of the weirdness?

Well, at 0930GMT I saw David Eades (if he presented The World Today he should habe finished his shift at 0730GMT), then at 1000GMT Lyse Doucet began her shift which is very strange since shifts begin at 0800 and 1200GMT.
Moreover there are no editions of World Business Report and I haven't seen any Business presenter so far.

Probably because of the severe news from Asia, no-one is interested in Biz News.

In addition, maybe TWT is having a week off this week because its holiday season.

There are no business news and no editions of WBR planned for today and tomorrow. Though there will be shown special business reports at the times where we normally get WBR.
WBR is scheduled to return on Wednesday at 0530 GMT.

The reason for the different presenter shifts is that The World Today is not on air today and tomorrow. This means the 0500 GMT bulletin is done by the overnight presenter. So David Eades started one hour later today. Also there are no editions of The World this week so that a 2000 GMT bulletin has been added to the schedule.

I think shifts will be as following today and tomorrow:

0600-1000
1000-1400
1400-1800
1800-2200
2200-0100

I think it's quite wierd that BBC World won't be talking about Business for two days...
