I really don't see the point of this shot and the plasma graphic....

They are framing for the plasma but feeding the plasma with a graphic based on the wall behind it, this is a pointless waste of a plasma and they may as well just stay on an MCU as we're not gaining anything from this shot. Why can't they use a 'The World Today' full frame graphic in there? Also this business of presenting WBR from 'The World' set is rubbish, I really don't like it - I mean why spend all that money on a new set but present half of the days output from an old, badly lit box at the end of the newsroom or 'The World' set as its known.

It's an automatic bit of the running order that automatically fires up the headline astons and removes them again at the end. So, if someone changes anything in that part of the script page, it won't work - hence 'Do Not Touch'....

Oh. You mean it's just like someone modifying the code of a script on a webpage and the error message for it is "Do Not Touch"? Haha interesting

I might have missed something (quite possible) but has BBC World dropped the countdown?

Nope. There's still countdown.

Rolling Eyes Sets me wondering too! But I quite like the plasma graphics, the black titles wouldn't fit in there...

The opening shot of the two presenters introducing themselves and doing the hellos is excellent. Long may that continue. I like that.

But I also wish they did goodbyes in the same way, with wide studio shot plus full music. I hate the short and curt way that they say "stay tuned for hard talk", and then squint into a monitor buried in the desk to ensure that they are definately off-air.

Please bring back the old type of wrap up with theme music.

I also noticed Darshini David and Lindsey Brancher having a right old chat about Man United's potential take over. It added a real nice touch to the bulletin.

I am sure it will all grow on us.

And, did anyone see the closing headlines strap during one of Nik Gowing's bulletins that said "Headlines - Do Not Touch"???

I like the new opening shot very much but I miss a real "hello and welcome" after the sting. Yesterday nobody but Mike Embley welcomed us.

Do not touch???

Well, I don't mind WBR coming from The World studio... I like all that blue behind Darshini David.

Another "HEADLINES Set-up Don't Touch" moment with Ms Brancher!

+ earlier a nice dynamic junction speling misstake:
NEXT: WORLD BUSINES REPORT

Also recently I saw: NEXT: "COUNTDOWN - 2003 REB" before top of hour

It all seems such a mess right now. Marcus - please don't get offended again - I know the gallery has too much to do and things sometimes go wrong and it's humans etc - but once standards slip it just becomes "normal". It never happened on World Service radio.. mistakes are rare, not hourly.

I do not like them using CAPS for the WORLD BUSINESS REPORT when the BBC News isnt!
