Yes, I also noticed that Manisha hasn't been on screen for a while either. And neither has John Terrett. Where are they both?

Have no clue who Sally Eden is.

I thought that Aruna Iyengar was the presenter of Asia Today when Anya Sitaram was away?

And, I would hardly rate Sally Bundock as "legendary". You need to to reach the echelons formerly occupied by the Quests and Becketts of this world to be rated as legendary surely?

Final word on the new set - hope they don't change it too much, as it's actually very nice and practical (apart form the ageing desk). When they do a set makeover, where will the bulletins come from? BBC1 news studio perhaps, or The World studio?

Well in my opinion she is, she is one of the BBC's most natural and comfortable business presenters and is excellent, bright and cheerful in the mornings which is what one wants from an early morning presenter.

Strange goings on down at TWT, both the last two days were presented by David and Sally except yesterday it was Eades and Eden and today it was Jessel and Bundock!? Either presenters are using up their leave or BBC's bosses are trying out new combinations of presenters for the programme suggesting that the year long partnership of Eades and Bundock may be coming to an end.

I hope not!

Aruna was foremerly a business presenter on BBC World -- then she moved to Asia Today.

It seems that half of the BBC World team have disappeared recently! As I said earlier, the same presenters are hogging the shifts, and other ones are hardly appearing.

As for which studio they'd use -- my guess would be BBC1, as that's what's happened in the past. The set of The World is in the BBC World newsroom -- right opposite the main news set. Hence, it couldn't be used.

I agree. The team seem to be permanently away, and the shifts are hogged by Mike, Martine, Nik and David. I really can't understand why they do that and I would love to know where Keshini and others have disappeared to.

TWT - I like the bulletin, but preferred it when Martine and Tanya presented. I feel that David is just too wooden and lacks charsima and energy that is needed when you are doing a two-header.

Adrian and Sally would be nice as the next line up. I would also settle for Nisha and Jamie, or even Martine and Sally again.

What about Zeinab and Sally..........?

Yeah I loved Martine and Tanya they were great together on TWT! I don't think David E is wooden just think that he is an acquired taste! Shocked

Though I have to agree that Adrian and Sally are great together, I've always liked Adrian and he has always been the stand-in or back-up guy (whatever you want to call him) even when he used to cover for Mike on 'BBC Newsroom South East'.

Adrian and Sally, then as a back-up David and Aaron (as said earlier on in this thread) would be my ideal line-up.

Why not do 'The World Tonight' in the evening's or have two editions of 'The World Today'? The evening edition could be presented by Nik Gowing and Manisha Tank.

Yes, that's a great idea, although I thought there had been some discussion about that on this forum before.

And another thing: at nights BBC WORLD joins NEWS 24. But as I'm not up 'till that late, I don't know how long these bulletins are. However, NEWS 24 is a rolling news channel so one would think there's continuing news coverage on WORLD at night. Is that true or are these bulletins also just half an hour long?

No, overnight, News 24 provide 25-minute world news bulletins on the hour from 01.00 to 05.00 BST, which are simulcast on both News 24 and World. They finish them with a short sting, and the two channels then go their separate ways. News 24 continues with a summary at half past, and then usually a recorded programme, while World show their breakfiller and then a pre-recorded programme as usual.

There will never be an evening edition "The World Tonight" because BBC World is a channel that is broadcasting worldwide and when it is evening in Europe it is morning/afternoon in other parts of the world and those people would really wonder if there was a news bulletin every morning called "The World Tonight".
