HUGE! That's one way of putting. I like what I have seen so far, which isn't much to be fair. Was that a holoscreen or a large plasma I could see on the wide shot? The desk looks good, but perhaps not quite so grand as the previous.

However the desk wasnt 'slanted' enough at the bottom I think. It looks like a sardine can? Is that the BBCWorld Newsroom? Or News24's?

Titles were a bit fcuked. Tower appeared during the headlines, headline caption stayed on over the opening titles, plus a big chesty cough from the female presenter.

Set looks nice though! Spacious, darker than N24, sharper pictures than N24's studio (N24 STILL has a camera that flickers green every few seconds!

Nice atmospheric studio on World!

It is definitely the BBC World Newsroom.

Its a very big plasma - no holoscreen

Wow, impressive. But I still think the desk looks weird. News24's desk is nicer... Shocked News24's desk curve in at the bottom, World's straight down...

I see that BBC World uses a different graphics on their plasma now. Its something like the newsroom 'walls' with the word BUSINESS next to it...

The stuff ups continue though... As already mentioned, the headline straps continued over part of the titles, and we could hear coughing.

Then, during the second in-brief segment, the straps showed the text from the first segment (although the pictures were the correct ones).

Finally, during the sports segment, we couldn't hear the sports presenter properly - there was something wrong with his mic, although that got sorted out after about half a minute.

What a way to launch your new studio!

WBR in separate studio space

I assume its The World set...

Do they not use the WBR astons any more?

I'm surprised they are not using the main news desk for the WBR, perhaps this is how things will continue with the news desk being used primarily for the top of the hour news programmes and such things as the WBR and Asia Today will come from elsewhere, presumably The World desk.

Does anyone know if there is to be something new in terms of the Sports Today area? Are there any new stand up areas like in the N24 newsroom?

Mr Q
It doesn't look like there are any stand-up presentation areas.

I've got to say - if they're going to use The World set for their second half hour programmes (Asia Today, WBR, Sports Today, etc.), then they should at least get another desk in there that matches the main desk. Even if they keep the crescent for The World, it seems a bit strange in, say, The World Today to go from one set with one distinct look, to another with something totally different.
