I have no idea too... Weird. I hate the most is the cutting off part... Evil or Very Mad I feel that the network stings are sort of timed is it? That is why before she could finish her part the sting came in...

Well Yaloh, you have been just complaining about everything; why don't you send an e-mail to BBC world . As you know they are going through technical difficulties!

Precisely BBCWORLD replied to me!!! Ok. here's how it goes...

Hello Tan,
yes, I am sorry. I actually took your e-mail into the Directors meeting this morning
where it was discussed at length. We are currently introducing new equipment in the
presentation suite which will cut down on some of the filler our viewers see on the
channel.

We think it will be a big improvement but yesterday was the first day this equipment
had been used and though the presentation and news teams had been fully briefed,
with all new procedures there are bound to be glitches. This is why your viewing
experience yesterday was not up to our usual standard. We do apologise for this and
we are monitoring the situation closely we do however, expect things to be running
much more smoothly within the next few days as our teams get used to the new
equipment. We also believe the channel will be improved by the changes we are
currently making.

Thank you for your e-mail though, such feed back is very valuable to us and we do
take notice.

I hope this has hoped to clarify the situation for you and answer your query.

Regards

I am not convinced (typical of my personality.LOL). In any case, I am planning to e-mail them as well and complain . But I am also patient at the moment because now I know there's a lot of people unhappy about these changes, so let's see what happens. I do hope BBC worldwide has a "customer is the king" kind of approach.

and the bulletin at 5.00 GMT ended without a sting!

I haven't seen any breaks during the news here in Canada. We even got the entire UK headline roundup on TWT this morning. I am able to see when a break begins, as the video flickers for a moment. They were having some problems during the 1830 GMT edition of World Business Report. I never lost the programme, but it kept flickering every 4 seconds, so I guess others did. But after the programme was finished, we didn't opt-out, and got a shot of Manisha Tank getting out of the desk and taking off her microphone. During this they were also preparing the studio from the 1845 edtion of Sport Today, and I got to see the graphics change on the background. Now for the good stuff: We got a shot of the new set (with the lights off, and presumably a work in progress). The desk has been replaced, and I could see News 24 red and white panelling. Then a Sport Today logo appeared on the screen until the programme started.

OH MY GOD!!!! That's it, I'm never watching BBC World ever again.

I think people are talking about a tempest in a tea cup. What we have had over what is no more than a few days is the introduction of some new equipment accompanied by some teething problems and a hand full of changes to the structure of programming which is still in the testing stage. Perhaps some of us should give all of this a chance and avoid jumping down the necks of BBC World execs.

Well let's hope they can sort this out, as this really is nothing short of a disgrace , let's look at the last hour gone by on BBC (currently fooked up) WORLD.

Manisha Tank about to say something, boom Pres cut in with Network sting

Back after the break, Manisha Tank is still presenting the Business News, before they cut to a sting from the News Gallery.

Nik Gowing starts a story only to be interrupted by another fookin network sting by Pres, only the final break felt orgainised, however Nik Gowing couldn't finish the headlines as the sting came back, Hardtalk started with no ident and ads are being shown in the wrong broadcast format, I mean this sort of testing should be restricted to behind the scenes, not being broadcast throughout the whole of Earth!

Hopefully things will get better as the e-mail says, it has to!

It gives viewers the uncomfortable feeling that commercial breaks are more important than news, which is horrible! All this doesn't fit the BBC at all.

I agree, but at the same time World does need to make money instead of losing it. Someone earlier mentioned that the computer system handling the channel's output was playing up when it moved into its new home over the weekend - broadcast center. I think they should limit a bulletin to 2 commercial breaks. Hopefully, with the set debut and these errors fixed, things will settle down by next week.

Off course BBC World has to make profits, but I find it rather strange that this suddenly has to be done now. SInce its start, BBC World suffered financial losses so why this heavy increase of commercials?

Well, here in Italy BBC World is a free-on-air channel and I suppose that's the same all over the world... so, if they want to make some money why don't they make us pay as the other news channels like CNN and Skynews do? I would be glad to pay to see BBC World, but the BBC World as it used to be, with no more than 4/5 minutes of advertisement per hour.
By the way, I hate the newsbar, it's useless and it destracts me... They tried to put it during every bulletin throughout last May but luckily the stopped doing so by the end of June. And now here we are again...
