A little while ago Dominic D posted and said that he was going to be the "main" daytime WBR presenter. Well, he must have been an imposter as I haven't seen him on air...........Personally I don't think he was suited to presenting like that.

And they've done it again. They've just cut off the closing headlines. Incredible how unprofessional World is today.

It sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. Having three breaks per programme is obviously going to reduce the journalistic quality of the bulletin, and having four streams and varying what each stream sees is surely going to increase the probability of cock-ups. I never liked it when BBC World had two breaks per bulletin, never mind three! Why can't they go back to 2000 with:
a) one break per bulletin, if any at all (weekday mornings and weekends)
b) business and sport introduced properly every bulletin (with use of the stings)
c) it's own unique look and music...not the same as News 24.
To be honest, I've felt that while BBC News 24 has become much better since 2003, BBC World is on a slippery slope towards where N24 used to be. It's becoming sloppy: you never know which presenter is going to be on when these days, and the number of technical mishaps over the last six months has been appalling.

BBC World has increased the number of breaks per programme to three, so it can sell more advertising. It has split into four different streams. When one stream has not sold any advertising then the break is filled with output from the News studio. That's why it all looks a bit disjointed at the moment and why presenters are sometimes cut off in their prime.

I've just watched a full bulletin, and can honestly say the new format is awful. They started OK with the headlines sequence, but it then went pear-shaped. The first break was at about 18.14 GMT, cutting Manisha off in her prime. It was only the little network stings, BTW, not the branded break stings like it usually was. After the break, they cut back to Nik with half a sting, before recapping the headlines. There was another break at 18.20, this time straight after a report, so there was no coming up included etc. Straight after the break was the sport, followed by another break at about 18.24, which cut Mary Rhodes off too. They then returned to Nik for all of 15 seconds before sharply cutting into the weather.
So, in conclusion, we've gained another two breaks per bulletin, lost the business and sport stings, lost the proper break stings, and lost the closing titles. Instead, they're either using nothing, or just the small network stings. It looks very sloppy indeed.

3 breaks per news bulletin, Is there actually time for them to read any news?

I was still about to compliment BBCWorld for having a new closing shot this morning with Adrian Finighan, the bulletins after The World Today, they closed with an overhead shot of News24 studio instead of the animation, then came the final logo of BBC News which was great, and who knows, now it turned like this. What a pity...

Oh it is soooo bad, if they don't stop this immediately they won't have any viewers anymore by the end of the week.
