Summaries at the bottom of the hour... that's totally new to me. I didn't know anything about that. Since when will this happen or is this already going on?
Besides: short summaries of the World News will decrease the time left for the programmes after that. Or will commercial breaks be shorter?
By the way: I too noticed the difference in the way BBC World handles commercial breaks: less dynamic juntion and more commercials.
Oh and yes: an awful lot of things goes wrong at World News!
Are BBC World gone completely mad? Learn how to make a news bulletin without a cock-up every three minutes would be much more useful than a new studio...
Anyway, what's Darshini's surname? She's fantastic, she really is a good reason to get interested in business news.
Yes it has been cock up after cock up... I wonder why??
Darshini's last name is David and I think that she is wonderful and brings enjoyment to the business news. Best female business reader and Aaron would have to be the favourite male.
I dont think David Jessel is enjoying there new 3 part news and bottom of the hour HEADLINE structure.. just the look on his face makes me think this. I dont like it.. it should not be permanent.
Has anybody seen the images I posted of a set that I think is great and would look good if BBC World had something like that. If you'd like to look go to page 38, 39 and 41 maybe 42 not too sure but have a look and please share what you think.
WHAT HAPPENED?! Oh my goodness, Its totally rubbish to me! Cutting in breaks suddenly and returns cutting the breakfiller halfway, sports finishing 'not nicely'.. and suddenly David ends the bulletin.. What is happening!!!
I think this new style of breaks, and the introduction of World News headlines on the bottom of the hour will work well...once these teething problems are sorted out.
Just watched it now, and Mary Rhodes was cut off just as she was signing off her sport bulletin by a break sting, quite messy.
They had to introduce the half hour headlines I think, after CNN International introduced them a couple of years ago.

Why do they have to remind us the main headlines once or twice during the bulletin, at the end of it and now even at the beginning of every programme? Do they think we forget the top stories every ten minutes?
:00 Top Hour Headlines
:25 Signing off Headlines
:30 Headlines Check
:50 Bottom Hour Headlines
and everything starts all over again...
And during the news bulletin there is always a "you're watching BBC World, a reminder now of our main headlines" (and sometimes, often in the through the weekends, there are two...)
BBC World has increased the number of breaks per programme to three, so it can sell more advertising. It has split into four different streams. When one stream has not sold any advertising then the break is filled with output from the News studio. That's why it all looks a bit disjointed at the moment and why presenters are sometimes cut off in their prime.

Three breaks per programme?! Oh dear, that seems to be even worse than CNN International.
