"BBC WORLD"

Yes, I do quite like it actually, although the images are a little bit hazy.

I am all for BBC World making a radical departure from the rest of the BBC presentation. It would be nice if they adopted an entirely different approach and style, to make it distinctly different from BBC News, so that it stands out somewhat.

I liked the flags era in particular, and also the theme music associated with the same period.

Whereby I don't like the current colours adopted on The World (green and yellow), I would like to see BBC World adopt a navy blue theme.

For all those Anita McNaught fans I can confirm that she is in Ramallah as I speak and has just finished a live cross with ONE NEWS TONIGHT. She has strong links with TVNZ and New Zealand so its anyones guess that she was asked by TVNZ to be the correspondent for Arafats health. So as I write this she is in Ramallah I took a picture of her so ill post it up in the coming hour.

Itsrobert or Newsroom will be able to confirm this, but I am sure Anita is a freelance journalist and is not employed as staff by the BBC. Therefore, it is indeed totally possible that she IS right now reporting for TVNZ.

However, perhaps (only perhaps) she has given up her freelance role with the BBC or her temporary contract has expired, and she has maybe gone freelance back to TVNZ.

I actually missed her at the weekend. LOL.

I see that the BBC WORLD have reverted to their "The World/Sport Today" desk.... Not very good, is it? I think the one they were using for the past few days was much better.

Here is the picture of anita mcnaught live with tvnzs one news tonight program speaking live just 50 minutes ago with the TONIGHT duo Kate Hawkesby (shes HOT) and Eric Young. She is in Ramallah. She may still be employed by BBC but as I said earlier in the thread she has strong links with TVNZ. Like this year she came to NZ to host a live debate on tvnz's tv one. and she also lived here in NZ for a while working for TVNZ.

itsrobert, do you know if Anita has left the BBC because at the start of the live cross in the picture I posted earlier it Kate Hawkesby said 'We are now going to cross live to our One News Correspondent Anita McNauhght" do you know if she has left the BBC and returned or started working for TVNZ as a reporter?

AFAIK Annita is freelance - she pops up on things like Earth Report as well as BBC World so probably just doing some work for TVNZ.
As to the comments about the World desk - it's possible to use the Nationals studio over the weekend for World but not during the week as there are too many national programmes in there.

Yes where is aaron I miss him heaps.. he always makes the news more interesting.
was anyone just watching BBC World then? they just cut Darshini off when she was doing the markets,? and went straight to an add.

I'm afraid I don't know anything definite, but I know that Anita is freelance, and she does have strong links with New Zealand. She freelances for NZ radio, so it doesn't surprise me that she has appeared on TV too. I think she also writes articles for newspapers.

itsrobert, do you know when the new set is going to be aired?? do you have a internal feed of the World Newsroom?? can you watch it being made?

I quite like this shot of it, looks professional yet refreshing by the colours. Yea, the previous message was meant for you, but I did not specify, I do apologise about that.
