No, the desk is still there. I have just finished watching a very sombre and black oufitted Anita presenting from it, in stark contrast to the garish outfit worn by Lucy Hockings who did the preceding shift.

I can only imagine that the chrome barrier/railings behind the presenters desk will be removed. That is the only subtle item they have remaining to be honest.

The other items (plasmas, pillars, desks) are all too signficant to be termed subtle.

Although I did notice Zeinab presenting on Friday night from a rather jazzy, new space age type chair (resembling those in an aircraft cockpit). She seemed to be relishing leaning back in the chair, just as much as she did tearing shreds from her Sudanese Compatriot whilst interviewing him in New York (The Sudan's UN Ambassador to New York).

Alas, let's wait and see what it is on Monday. I haven;t noticed anything thus far.

On the subject of Keshini and Geeta, anyone know where they are?

Lol, if I'm right in what I think it is, you haven't got it yet! If they removed the railings, there'd be a health and safety problem, as there's a drop from the raised set to the newsroom floor.

Geeta's still on maternity leave, AFAIK.

Perhaps its the red carpetted podium?

Maybe its those annoying floor monitors that they seem to love getting in shot so much that or that pillar in the background (not sure if its set or a real pillar?)...

Sorry for asking, but can anyone tell me whether 'The World Today' is still broadcasted on BBC World, as I cannot find it in the schedules and never actually SAW it on BBC World.

Nisha Pillai sometimes says (just before the break): "Stay with us, wouldn't you." Little... is that a common sentence these days in news programmes?

I'm afraid that is holding up the roof. Take it away and BBC Online would come crashing down into the Newsroom

When I watched it on BBC World I believe they never said the World TOday, but all the music and presenting set-up was of the World Today. It is BBC News Titles in World. I might be wrong though. Best chance is to look at the 05.00am schedule on BST and +/- your time zone

The 0500 TWT is branded as such with titles on BBC World, but in the schedules it is branded as "BBC News". The same happens with The World. The 0600 and 0700 bulletins are in the same style as TWT, but are branded as BBC News.

Technically yes, although it's really just a 30 minute news bulletin followed by World Business Report. The only real difference between TWT and the 0600/0700 bulletins is that the news presenter returns to close it at 05.55.
