Wow. If that's the case, then that's a staggering three or four bulletins today with exactly the same problem at start up!!!!

OK tech experts - how can that be? Surely they would iron it out after the first time??

Might seem trivial to some of you, but in this day and age it surprises me.

(unless it's Barbara Windsor and June Brown from Eastenders who are working the gallery today................................)

If you don't sort out those problems, I'm going to slap you.........understood??

I think this problem won't happen again at 1700 GMT because I think there will be a joint bulletin with News 24 as BBC One need their studio at 1720.

Oh, so who will present it then? Is it still Peter Sissons who does the afternoon shift on N24 on a Saturday? It was the last time I saw it in the UK.

Maybe we should have Embley and Sissons together.......

Hurrah! So maybe BBCW is making do with only two duty newscasters today, instead of the usual three, since they will be sharing broadcasts with N24 today in a partial capacity.

Anita is maybe away somewhere being cryogenically re-charged, the Ice Maiden that she is!!

Well, Anita "the Ice Maiden" McNaught is definitely the best news presenter ever existed. I'd like to see her more often, not just at week-ends and, three times a year presenting The World Today.

I actually agree with you. If your read the majority of my previous posts, I actually like the ice maiden a lot.
It's just that her sombre and incessant solemnity has become something if a standing joke here on the boards.

I like her though and agree that I would like to see Cruella, sorry I men Anita more........

So... why do the World News bulletins come from the National News studio instead of the 'The World' studio which BBC World used all week?

Because they need to make lots of noise and rip the old set out ... watching a feed now of some of the new set going in and there are workmen everywhere. You can only do that when there is nothing else broadcasting from the World area. Expect another joint weekend, some use of the N24 set just on World and use of The World set in the next few weeks.

Because the studio for The World is ALSO inside the same studio as BBC World News (although divided by a paper partition, or something). So, since the painters, decorators and architects are in the World studio today making a lot of noise and rebuilding the set, and using loud drills etc, etc, then it will be too noisy to use the set of The World, which is not anywhere far enough away to escape this background noise. Also, someone may fall off a ladder and into Anita's lap.

Or, that's my guess anyway. Someone may care to correct me.

(Edit: Nicky - you beat me to it!!)

There is no paper partition
