How long have you been a fan of BBC World? I have been watching World since 1996, whilst living in various countries abroad, and I always wondered what has happened to some names who disappeared without trace. Perhaps you can enlighten me, if you are such a huge fan (which incidentally I am too!!)

Teymoor Nabili
Donald MacCormack
Nici Marx
Carla Garapedian
Peter Coe

Other than recently being told that "they are no longer here", I really do wonder where they have gone!! Any ideas?

Saw David Eades back on TWT this morning. The BBC World logo looks quite good on the N24 suspended screens, don't you think?

Nici Marx is freelance and has been spotted on CNN Europe (and a random shift on BBC World I believe...) Her partner in crime Donald MacCormick has since retired.

Nici also crops up on LBC 97.3 from time to time, reading the news.

BBC World's simulcasted news is now from The World studio, rather than News24... News24's red globe titles was used. Any idea what happened to the News24 studio? Confused

News 24 is continuing to do its own domestic coverage because of the North East devolution referendum - see the thread I have just started.

That means the news on BBC World is only broadcasted on BBC World? News24 is doing their own coverage? But why the News24 graphics and titles?

It should not be just the male presenters. The "flower" is a poppy The Royal British Legion should give you all the info

British Summer Time is now over. I used to see TWT at 0800hrs here in Dubai during the summer (3 hours ahead of the UK). Now I see it at 0900hrs (or rather miss it at 0900hrs, given that I am in the office by that time).

Jane Dutton was used very sparingly when they were real short of staff.

It was good to see two BBC Newscasters out in the field doing reports, in the last couple of days. (Huw Edwards somewhere in Ohio ((?)), proved that he is far better as a reporter than a presenter. Lucy Hockings did a report on Sunday from the French Countryside, about wine production. That's why Anya Sitaram was sitting in for her on BBC World I guess.)

There was a slight error last night in the BBC World News at 8pm London time last night, presented by Katty Kay (Washington) and Nik Gowing (London). They accidentally showed a News 24 bumper in between films, instead of the usual BBC World one.

What a sad man I am, noticing things like that.....................

Finally, didn't Nisha Pillai look good last night, with her hair tied back and presenting BBC World News. The temporary studio actually looks quite good I think.

You've got to understand that most presenters on World are freelance.

I must say, the BBC World team have put a lot of effort into this temporary set. Not only do they have a loop from the various camera angles used on BBC World, which they are showing in the projection screens, they have also recorded loops for Asia Today. The difference is that the screens on the wall of the newsroom are showing the AT DVD loop rather than the news one. Only a small difference, and I doubt many viewers would have even noticed! It's good to see World bothers over the finer details.

Great to see BBC World have deployed one of their greatest assests to cover the Arafat story, The fabulous LYSE DOUCET. She's currently in Ramallah. She must have packed her bags yesterday after her shift on World.

Rolling Eyes Is NEWSROOM being sarcastic or does he really like Lyse Doucet and her presentation-style?
