They probably won't change it at all. BBC World never uses the same countdown music as News 24 (except for the 1999 countdown). And since the current countdown music on World is only about 9 months old its far too soon to go changing it again.

When will BBC World get the new countdown music like News 24?

I'd love that.
I also liked the "just-numbers one".
The current countdown is terrible in my opinion. All those flashes and freaky "special effects". And I don't think the images they show are that good either.

Speaking of countdowns, I came up with a random idea to have a kive countdown with good camera set up inrandom places like red square or piccadilly corcus. just a thought.

the world version is not as good as the news version in my opinion. It doesn't do what the N24 version does so well - namely shouting "we're the BBC and we're FAB" at the viewer

Another idea for a countdown. The music would just start out withh the blips, than the go to a shot of lets say india, and than the countdown music would have a bit of indian influence, than you would go to another random place, and that music would be on top of the indian one, and after a few places in would be a distinctive world music tune in the tune of David lowe's tune.

what a fab idea. You know I think we could expand on this.
Maybe if during the indian bit we had some bollywood dancers, and then some latin sounding music with some men doing a capoeira routine to it...

Could you explain how Hyma was being ignorant, as that part of his post seems to be missing from my screen.
