Why do they not use the proper breakfiller?

Because it's clearly the studio feed- in 16:9- rather than the off-air output which would be 4:3/14:9.

Absoletly shambolic episode.

Things are not good, to say the least.

although I do like what she's saying. I like her even more now

to be fair though - it's not the actual output - it's a thrown together feed from the studio for NOL

It is interesting to see that process happening and it's always nice to hear a presenter challenge what they've been given instead of merely reading what they're told. Staying that, it was still broadcast abeit not on TV but it's still in the public domain.

Ok...sorry...could someone explain what was happening today? Where did these audio clips come from? And why was the headline bed running while Lyse was questioning the headline? I'm completely lost here!!

completely lost? you've only got to read the last 3 posts on the previous page where it's spelled out quite clearly.

do other people not read a thread from where they left off or something? have I been doing it all wrong for the last 5 years?

I'm not fully upto speed on this myself, so correct me if I'm wrong.
Lyse Duchet anchored breaking news of the killing of one of Iraqs most wanted insurgents, his name escapes me, but he become notorius for the execution of Ken Bigley, amongst others. Anyway, the clip you see is Lyse live on a BBC News stream (it was streamed live on BBC News Online)

Rather, shall was say, interesting.

that's correct. and instead of using the full BBC World stream, they used N9's output and clagged a makeshift caption up during the breaks. However during one forgot to fade into the caption... leaving her on screen sorting her hair and moaning about that headline.

Why? Because the staff working in the busy gallery forgot to send a message to the IT guys to put up a break caption instead of the studio feed?

I think it's good, as it shows newsreaders are actually human and do have other voices besides their authoritarian or poor newsreading voices.

Not shambolic at all.
