I love when he and Lucy H are on together, and you have the two accents battling with each other. I find him very amusing and always enjoy his little funnies. Always guaranteed to have a laugh when he's on.
Watched The World night before last, and the programme seemed to wrap up very earlyish, which left the viewer with an extremely prolonged bed being played towards the closing music, accompanied by a very lengthy overhead view of Kirsty Lang in the studio. The music was amazing actually - really liked it.
But Oops Kirsty. You forgot that The World isnt ONLY transmitted on BBC 4, when you said "from me and from all of the BBC4 team, Goodbye".
Zeinab Badawi was back last night with a studio panel who were rather boisterous. She kept them well in line though.
"Now on BBC World, as part of our Emerging Giants season, World Business Report, Live from London"
Whats so special about it?
Aha- is it because Maryam Moshiri is wearing red?
EDIT: Oh, the special interview. Like the guest. Don't understand Tanya's questions? Don't answer them then!
Watched BBC World in ages today, really the channel looks such a mess now watched the countdown, the music isn't even in synch with the seconds, the ticker had jumbled up text, Tim Willcox got rudely cut off into a World promotion ad, the channel just looks so rough now it's a sad sight to see
Al Jazeera International will be launched this autumn, a French international news channel (CFI) is being set up... Will BBC World (still) be a main player in the field of news channels in the coming years?
I remember someone on this forum recently (that might be more than a month ago) who said that BBC World looks less messy than it used to be over the last year. Personally, I think it hasn't got any better... Take for instance the latest TOTH: nearly everything that could go wrong when graphics are concerned, DID in fact go wrong: countdown, headlines, title sequence, name straps, the headline 'bang' in the middle of the programme... I don't want to sound like a grumpy old man, but really: this channel still hasn't got its feet on the ground. Someone could give an explanation? Just financial restriction?
Nontheless: how do you think BBC World keeps going in a 24-news landscape beyond CNN? Will it focus (more) on its superior news content and leave the slogan 'Putting News First' behind? Of course BBC World is different from other news channels in the sense that it broadcasts news bulletins on the hour, every hour instead of bringing continuous coverage. Tell me, tell me: what do you think?
