My TV Capturing software is crap and cheap, the quality that you also think is fantastic is rather crap too!! If your talking to me lol

Look. I didn't say your capture is fantastic in itself. I merely said that IN COMPARISON with the quality the BBC is capable of delivering on its websites, it certainly looks like you're at the cutting edge of TV capturing. And, you know, there's crap and crap. If you say your video is crap my goodness I wonder what possibly applies to the BBC's. Now in terms of the intrinsic quality of your thing well I reckon it's well over watchable, which is more than can be said for an awful lot of other TV captures on the internet. But if you say it's horrendously poor well ok I won't embark on any kind of strife lol.

What happened to Martine Dennis at the opening of one of her bulletins earlier today? Just before she gave the intro (whilst she and Dharshini David were in view) she turned almost 180 degrees to face the back and fiddled with something to the back and rear of the desk, then reached over to the extreme right of the desk (near the plasma) and touched something else, before she was able to speak. She then seemed a bit agitated throughout the opening story.

I echo your opinion. Her versatility is admirable indeed. I remember her anchoring the 1530 CET edition of Asia Today On December 31st 2004 when the gallery and studios appeared deserted, dramatically understaffed; that was the first time I saw her outside a business segment. Does anyone of you seasoned and experienced BBCWorld stalwarts whose knowledge is adorable, recall her presenting news bulettins prior to that?Wink

On that same New Year's Eve she presented a news bulletin (with Aaron Heselhurst presenting the business) and that was her first time.
I think she also presented the news from the New York studio a few times during the last several months.

Indeed. Maltese is correct and spot on.

Manisha also was a regular presenter of a particular segment of the BBC's Six Oclock News just after its relaunch a few years back.

She presented a kind of "vote of the day" segment live from the Newsroom.

IMO, it's time she was moved into News permanently.

Thanks for that!
What I find puzzling however is that your (home recorded, presumably)video is cristal clear compared to those available on the BBCNews website. Are you equipped with state of the art TV capture technology or is it that the BBC's is obsolete?

I don't think the BBC's is obsolete, it's just that they compress everything so that there's a hope in hell of their servers not collapsing under the strain of serving lots of high res video

Did you make that up, or is it an official foto from the www? I agree, Manisha looks terrible in it.

Official, I'm affraid to say.

Do a google...

It used to change every forum, so if immigration were the issue they'd incorporate that into the title if memory serves, but yeah, shockingly bad.
