Same here, nice titles. nice astons, nice headline vamp, stings, breakfillers, it was a complete and consistant presentation package back then.

Yeah, missed those days when we actually get a proper closing to the bulletin...

"And that's all from the BBC World Newsroom here in London for the moment"

I loved that...

Or my favourite, with the gradually building bed was:

"And a reminder now of our top story -blah, blah, and that's all from the BBC World Newsroom, from me and the rest of the team - goodbye".

Really long closing shot and titles. Great!

Has anyone seen this "Peschardt's People" programme on BBC World, presented (naturally) by MP? Is it also showing on N24?

It just kinda creeped up on us here at World, as it was never (IIRC) trailed or advertised in any manner (certainly not in my region).

It has a really bizarre set of graphics and intro.

Anyway, that's all........

Oh, Lucy Lucy Lucy Lucy..............what are we going to do with you??????

For a reason that I cannot even begin to explain, and I don't know why, but Ms Hockings is just NOT suited to being the anchor of the Pioneer Bulletin of the day..........there is a loudness, or something, that renders her out of place on The World Today.

Yes, I like Lucy Hockings, and I have grown to like her presentation style, but I prefer someone else on The World Today.

I know this post is probably a waste of time because I am not explaining myself properly, but that's the best I can do.

It's like watching Breakfast on BBC News, and having Carol Vorderman at the Newsdesk instead of Moira. Carol is an exceedingly clever and capable person, but she just ain't suited to Newsdesk.........oh damn it. I can't get my point across.

Damo - help me out here.

Well... umm I don't really like Lucy at all... I don't like the Intros on BBC World News and TWT with her... she says "This is the World Today from BBC News" when Sally hasn't even finished saying her last name... If I was Sally id butt back in so I can intro myself properly! and Lucy's voice just seems so fake and manly it doesnt suit her!

Zeinab, Peter Dobbie, Alaister Yates, Martine Croxell, David Eddes (at a push) or even Mike Embley, he did a stint in late 2003 and was brilliant there (on TWT). Don't know why they moved him actually.

Have to argee though with the Lucy sentiments, She should remain on Asia Today, awfully "in your face" approach to broadcasting.
