For the benefit of those who've not been following the News 24 thread or aren't in the UK - News 24 has tweaked one or two parts of their presentation, including the headline slug (now a thinner weight of font), and the ticker (black and white).
Not all of the changes have made it across to BBC World, which is why things change for the few hours of the simulcasts.
Poor BBC News 24 viewers... These over-simplifying, black and white look horrible. As if it's just another mistake. Glad it's not introduced on BBC World as well. Or will it?
By the way: I still cannot live with the globe being red instead of orange. It look so fake. Not on News 24 though! It's different there, without that white shade on both sides of the globe.

What is this: a white ticker with thin, black letters? And the beam on the left (under the red BBC World logo) is black with white letters...

I'm just trying to grasp on what level the latter would be realistic. Last time I checked, the land on Earth wasn't orange and the sea wasn't pitch black. Perhaps I need to download a newer version of Google Earth.

You should. I mean: orange IS the new green. ... Though it seems most people have gotten used to the red land on the globe and the white shades, I have to say I prefer the orange era. Why has it changed anyway?
Oh, and the globe spins much slower than it used to?

I like the red globe more than the orange one.I wasn't a fan of the new look in the beginning but after a while I started to like it including the new studio. But I think that nothing can beat the 1999-2003 era when we had that great dynamic music, red and yellow graphics, great studio and the propper ending of every news bulletin.
... and could somebody tell me why in the every ending of the news presenter tells us the headlines and website and then stops talking for a few seconds and after that announces the weather? Why do they make that pause?
