Now that Manisha seems to have settled in New York, does anyone know what Tanya Beckett has become? Is she back in Britain or has she followed the path of John Terret?
Anyway I find the Dharshini/Manisha duo wonderful for the nightly edition.

Kirsty Lang is great on The World, I really think that's her programme. I really like Zeinab Badawi, too (I hoped she would become Hardtalk's main presenter at the time Tim Sebastian went to Qatar) but I think she should go back to BBC News and Kirsty back to The World. It's not to promote or demote anyone, I just think Zeinab Badawi is better at keeping the pace of a News Bulletin while Kirsty Lang is more suited for an in-depth analysis programme like the World.

Personally, I'd completely revamp "The World" it's content is frankly abused by the sloppy pres of the programme. Kirsty's OK, not sure I can always "relate" to her. Zeinab should return to BBC World, possibly with Kirsty and a new team, or an old one, brought in.
Dark/Orange worked. Lime Green doesn't, doesn't fit with BBC World, or Four and frankly looks like a bolt on rather than a fragship world news programme.

Well, The World's intro, both music and graphics, is terrific in my opinion...
Talking about Kirsty Lang, I noticed that she's got the same accent of Deborah MacKenzie and Martine Croxall... English is not my mother tongue so I could be wrong, but if I'm right where are they from?

At this stage I'm sure that the 'comedians' among TVF's membership will at this stage wish to interject with stories of how their maths teachers were quite witty, how they've enjoyed many a warm ice cube, and how they often enjoy the endless charm of tree stumps. I'd like to preempt such vacuous comments with this statement: "Shut up."

oh no, it's pathetic compared to the original orange graphics and music. The only thing I do like in the new set is the little piano thingy for "around the world" or whatever it's called.

I can't say I watch the show anymore as it's generally the same Plight Of Palestinian Women episode that's repeated over and over again.

Quite a few presentation juggles this week, with Kirsty Lang, Martine Dennis and David Eades all doing TWT at some point. Peter Dobbie is very welcoming weekend anchor. Nice to have him back on BBC World.

Taking a break maybe, or working behind the scenes (she is a producer isn't she?) , or maybe filming for a report!

Umm... Very good but certainly no replacement for Mr Finigan...

Speaking of TWT there is rumour about on that very programme.
