Anyone else see that 0300GMT TOTH? It started as normal then about 3 seconds in the headline bed stopped and in the background you could here a loud humming noise, then at about the 3 headline in the bed started playing again and then the humming noise stopped, and when it was turned off it sounded exactly like a vacum cleaner!

The overhead tractor-cam in the background. It's been horribly audible for the last few days. Must be the cold weather.

It wasnt the tractor cam, I heard that after the titles but this sounded like a vacum cleaner being turned off for sure!

When else do you expect Deidre and her "crew" to clean that dustball?

No, could be worse, you could be cleaning the glass right behind the presenter ala Midlands Today...

Looking to 2006, what are your predictions regarding BBC World? Will the bulletins be altered in some way? Will the channel finally have 24hr viewing in the USA?

Well, I hope the new year will bring closing titles and a darker atmosphere in the newsroom - don't get me wrong, I don't want Lindesy Brancher to put up black lipstick or Jamie Robertson to dress like count Dracula... I just think the studio is too bright and shiny, I loved the old newsroom.

But it is the old newsroom, justed with frosted glass, take that off and it would like the old newsroom Wink

I think World should remove the glass wall. It was nice when you could look into the newsroom.

Clearly not, they gave it a huge repaint as well.

The newsroom is a difficult issue because people complained it was too dark, so they switched on the lights and made it a lot brighter, now people want it darker again?! Mad.

Has Maxine Mawhinney ever did any presenting on BBC World?
