Must be some technical problems at Lyse's end, toth just showed about 10seconds of her looking at the camera with the bed playing, then they cut to Lyndsey who is dressed appropriately for the day.

Strange - at 1900 Alastar Yates was in the newsroom but he must have done a short shift (much shorter than his usual shifts) because now, at 0000GMT Anya Sitaram is on. What time did she begin her shift?

I admit I haven't seen very much of BBC World at all over Christmas but based on previous years, BBC World treats Christmas holidays like normal working days. Since Christmas Day was on a Sunday this year it had a weekend shift format. However, just because it is a Bank Holiday does not usually mean there is a weekend-esque rota - Boxing Day was Monday this year so they probably just followed their usual weekday shift patterns (or roughly so, as there is no BBC4 production etc).

Yesterday appeared to be Lindsey Brancher, David Eades, Alastair Yates and Anya Sitaram, in that order.

Nik Gowing and Martine Dennis did the weekends.

In fact, it was amusing to see during David Eades' shift, that the news desk was cluttered with newspapers and what even looked like a hard back novel that he must have been reading between stories and bulletins!! Good old David. Doesn't care a jot...............

I also recently learned that we (TV Forum) are on the favourites bar on the BBC World on-set computers. So, next time you think that David Jessel is slouching too much, you can post it right here on the BBC WORLD thread, and he can straighten himself up on the spot instantly!!!!! Wink (Not that DJ ever does slouch - I am using his name purely as an example....)

Lindsey took on at 1000GMT, before it was Mike Embley.

Whenever David Eades is on, the desk appears the messiest (sp?) of all presenters, and I thought that hard back thing was a diary? I remember him holding his pen with the hard back open and then he placed the pen on top of the open page. Oh Well, lol he must like to keep himself occupied when not on air and sitting at the desk.

Noughts and crosses????? Researching a new book???? Writing his memoirs????? Penning a letter to that guy Damo Kovacs??? Laughing

Forgot to wish you a Merry Christmas, by the way Damo. What's the news from your part of the world?

So I wonder if this slight re-shuffle that we saw yesterday is purely seasonal, or if it bears a greater degree of permanence? Did anyone see who did the overnight simulcast with N24 last night?

Appears as though we just have a static red box dog rather than one with a rotating globe, or even one with just a globe!

EDIT: Regular DOG back 1047

I like seeing much stuff and newspapers on the desk... it's a newsroom after all.
