Mr. Peter Sissons delivered a sublime performance on The World last night. This really is what he is good at. Long may he continue to front bulletins like this and may they take him away from News 24 altogether.

Some bulletins are shown on board aircrafts on certain international flights. These bulletins don't have the weather or the "coming up next".

Why do bulletins end twice, at .26 and at .26:15? Which users opt out fifteen seconds earlier than the others?

Aaron was reading business headline at toth, and midway through it the opening music started playing. when it had finshed playing the headline music stopped also, so i was a quick opening.

i beleive it's the Asia feed which takes the later opt. I seem to remember a reminder of the headlines and whats coming up before the presenter then saying "But here in Asia" or words to that effect.
Well, I'm in Europe and I take the later opt out as well.
This double opt out means a lot of rimenders of the bbcnews website which in my opinion are completely unnecessary.
There are now lots of opt out places for different reasons - Asia, the PBS stations and BBC America and indeed all the other countries who rebroadcast certain bulletins - inc for example CBC in Canada. Also the headlines at the half past are now also available on mobile phones in some countries which is why they no longer tell you the net programme rather a plug for bbcnews.com

Strange happenings today in the middle of Middle East Business Report. No DOG at all from the beginning. The astons were also very strange. No animation at all. Then they put the old DOG to the top of the screen. The aston animations very very bad. Then the whole screen went black. Then Green. After a minute it went back to black again. Then the programme continoued without DOG and aston animations. At TOTH everything went back to normal.

Well, I've just witnessed to a 59 seconds countdown... I have to say that after all it is rather nice BUT the music of the pre-2003 one remains the best and also the old N24's one is better in my opinion, some shots are quite powerful but some could be better and the red flashes along with the final red ident are terribly dodgy.
And it seems to me that the music is not perfectly synchronized with the seconds.
Is Ben Brown a regular presenter on N24?

Yeah you're right. I think it was in sync when they launched it but its a bit off now.
That 59 second one must have been by accident. They'd never let it play out for that long on purpose.
Speaking of long countdowns, I saw a 43 second one at 20:00 Thursday night (GMT). I think this one was also by accident because they cut abruptly into it with no fade from black like they normally do.
I hope they play long ones more often. Its not such a waste of air time any more now that it has BBC written all over it. I honestly believe viewers find it more interesting than trailers. It could be seen as a promo in itself!
