Guy Ruddle is the biz presenters name, Lindsey forgot it earlier in the bulletin.

and I'm sure she said "Sh*t"!! after that last story on the Korean mother and baby... she finished reading the story is went back to her, she raised her eyebrows, there was a pause.. the she said a word which sounded 100% like Sh*t!...then another pause and then finished the bulletin off to weather.

Can anyone recall who was in the newsroom when the news of the 9/11 terrorist attacks broke?

Stephen Cole was on in the morning as usual, but it was Nisha Pillai who was on duty when the attacks happened. BBC World was in the middle of Sport Today with Rob Bonnet, and he handed quickly back to Nisha. IIRC, she messed it up a little by saying the second attack was a replay of the first, when in fact it was live. I suppose, given the circumstances, it was an easy mistake to make. After all, one wouldn't have expected two planes to crash into the WTC within minutes of each other. After the first plane crash, it wasn't immediately evident that it was a terrorist attack. It was only after the second one that people started to realise it was pre-planned.

Anyway, Nisha was replaced by Nik Gowing, who anchored much of the afternoon's coverage. My memory is foggy here, but I think there was some form of joint BBC News Special in the early evening (a simulcast with BBC1 and N24 - am I right?) and then Philip Hayton took over as usual at 20.00 BST.

Thank you.
I've been looking for a video about that for a long time but I've never found it.

Well, that sounds fantastic!, but could you please be a little clearer? I didn't quite understand why and when she said it...

How world history changed in just two minutes... well on BBC World it can!
1) At the top of the hour
2) After two minutes of silence

Quite funny to see Rico in the newsroom. Is that unprecedented for a ABR presenter, or has Sheranjit already reported from the London studios?
I look forward to seeing Rico be on duty for the TWT edition of the WBR, and say "Let's catch up with the latest financial stories in the Asia/Pacific region, and join *** in Singapore". That would be quite a thing to see!! Another fab quote would be "Rico, that's the latest from Asia, back over to you." lool
And with all those people heading West (Manisha, Zeinab, Rico), get ready to see John Terret reappear in Singapore over the next few days! Wink

Anyway, I need some evidence to believe that Lindsey said "Sh*t"... Anyone's got some video capture?

I'm not sure if she really did say Sh*t but it started with S and it was said very quick and sounded just like it.

Lindsey: She actually said "sure", probably in repsonse to earpiece fed instructions.

Fabulous to see Rico in London. He really does interact well with the main presenter and, after all, he does know his stuff! Manisha will do well in New York. She has done it before, but I think she is best in London, where she has more opportunity to progress. The NYC position always feels to be kinda "out of sight and out of mind" to me, so I hope that her tenure there is short!!

The only other Singapore based presenter who has definitely anchored from London too, was the fabulous Linette Tye! Although in slightly reversed fashion - Linette was a news anchor on BBC World news in the mid to late 90's, before going back to Singapore and eventually rejoining the BBC a few years later to anchor ABR.
