Interesting to note that BBC World has launched 24/7 today in the US on Real Networks broadband service.

TV Newser, the very popular media blog. reported last month the deal between BBC America and BBC World.

I noticed they replaced the morning edition of Asia Today for a News Extra, does anyone know why, and if it's permanent? I also haven't seen Lucy Hockings presenting for more than a week by now, wonder why.

I'm not sure which time zone you're in, but is it perhaps a result of the end of summer time? BBC World's schedules are based on GMT, which I only remembered on Friday when I sat down at 10.30 to watch Click Online, but got Asia Today instead.

(Does this mean the Heathrow Express bulletin is now recorded at 0830?)

No, the Heathrow Express bulletin is recorded at 22.30 when there are no live programmes going out.

Well, I heard him changing the "hello" on BBC World to something like "Bringing you right up to date with the main news here on BBCWorld, I'm Alastair Yates", which I liked because I've always found the "This is BBCNews from BBCWorld, I'm ------, the headlines" rather unnatural.
Anyway, I like seeing Alastair Yates on World so often, I actually think he is one of the most skilled presenter on the channel, perhpas the most - I've never seen him handling with breaking news though.
Oh, and is the N24's programme Business Today over? 'Cause I saw Darshini David presenting the 2245GMT edition of World Business Report.

At the risk of a Monty Pythons joke, Buisness Today has shuffled from it's mortal coil, it's no more.

Big Al is a fantastic presenter and definatly one of the most skilled presenters on the BBC.

Now I'm sure: BBC World's globe in the titles is a different red than News 24's globe. And it's not only the globe, it's everything in the titles. News 24's red is far brighter and in-your-face than the ugly World's. That glob sometimes even looks a little pink/purple.

I enjoy the clean, uncluttered feel of the BBC World studio, and it is good to see clean glass behind the presenter!!

N24 looks foggy by comparison.

Mr. Yates certainly is a refreshing face to have on World - I agree with the comments above, i.e. that he is one of the most competent and capable presenters that the BBC has.

I have noted, of late, that Tanya Beckett continually looks tired and has definitely lost her former sparkle. She also is slightly larger than normal (no offence intended whatsoever), not that size matters of course, but I can't help but feeling that Tanya maybe needs a change and placed onto a programme that has slightly more interaction with a co-presenter in the same studio!!

I think also that Tanya's time is up in New York and she is just to boring to watch now.

From caps of the N24 Set it looks like its always a foggy and rainy friday afternoon!
