Starting Monday October 10th, BBC America will air three hours of continuous news from BBC World from 6 am to 9 am ET. Very Happy

Previously, viewers could only watch 30 mins of news at 6, 7, and at 8 am.

Do you mean PM? I mean, I have never watched BBC America but I guess that up to now they have aired the bulletins presented from Washington, which means 6 and 7 PM.

No BBC America has always taken the 6am, 7am, 8am and 6pm EST programmes, It will now take the complete chunk from 6am-9am, so our American cousins can now experience the full delights of Asia Today, WBR, News Extra and Sport Today

So I guess it would be BBC world with the BBC america dog over it at the top corner?

Why is it listed as "BBC World News - BBC World News Special " and
"Beginning Monday, October 10th, BBC World News will air from 6:00am to 9:00am with live news coverage."

Hmm interesting to see the Orange BBC News from BBC World titles for about 2 seconds then the Airel shot for the rest of the titles and from looking at it, Nisha was ready to read!

Strange shifts today on BBC World... Adrian Finighan consacrated his day to work presenting from 0500 to 1400 GMT. Then at 1500 Mike Embley and now Alistair Yates... do you know at what time he began his shift?

Ciao Maltese!

I was also surprised to see Mike Embley appearing over the weekend. Didn't he just do five full nights during the week?

IIRC, Mr. Yates started his shift yesterday at around 6pm London time.

It was nice to see Karin Giannone after some time, doing the nightshift. I expected to see Alistair Yates again doing a double shift, which he does reguarly, but he was spared this time. There was a terrible noise when the tape of imagination got stuck for a few seconds, but that's what you can (sadly) expect during the weekends. Less personnel and more screwups.

Alistair wasn't on because he's doing the Sunday afternoon shift on BBC News 24.

Their Delhi bureaux are quite nice indeed. Does anyone remember the studio from which Nisha Pillay covered the 2004 Indian elections?

Any BBC World set away from London is a good set it has to be said.

Ladies and Gentlemen, she's back! Anita McNaught, whose hair is much longer than 1 year and a half ago, is back on BBC World. Unfortunately not in the newsroom (but I hope she will present the news again one day), but next week-end she will be hosting a programme called "The Digital Dividend".
