When is something going to done about the timing of the regional opt outs and the crashing in and out of bulletins? Here in the Middle East, the overall presentation is only marginally better than Glasgow University Student Television circa the mid-seventies, and that's saying something.
It also seems that the vast majority of the presenters, with the exception of Adrian Finighan and Alastair Yates, are incapable of timing their end-of-bulletin ad libs to reach junctions. What with that, the awful overall picture quality, the dodgy straps and Astons, the endless filler material (programmes like Reporters), the golf hole obscuring 'Tower' and the region specific 'interstitials' - those awful breakfillers - BBC World is just not very good. Surely BBC Broadcast can at least sort out all these timing problems.
Incidentally, when I mentioned these issues to two BBC execs, one of whom is resident in Dubai, they seemed blissfully unaware that there were any problems whatsoever. Maybe they're busy watching Sky News, due to become even more watchable from October 10.
