The BBC News Special on the German elections has been extremely good in my opinion: Nik Gowing did a great job always keeping a good pace and also Tristana Moore and Dominic Hughs did good.
Fantastic to see the sunset over the German Parliament behind Nik Going, they couldn't find a better place to broadcast from.
Just a few sound problems with the interpreters but a channel which so often suffers techincal faults wasn't supposed to reach perfection...
Oh, and great stings, I would sell my soul to get the music they played at the end of the News Special.

This was the end of the Special Programme

German Special

Thanks so much!

Can I have your soul now?

Of course.

Something needs to be done about The World. Zeinab badawi is an excellent anchor, but her talents are wasted on this mediocre excuse for a serious news bulletin.

Everything, from the set, the graphics, the theme music, the captions, the colour scheme and the ever changing line up of presenters, makes this programme a bit of a misfit. I now turn over to CNNI WNE to avoid The World.

Can someone try to stabilise the programme and give it a proper set, instead of this current hotch-potch used also for ST and WBR. The camera angles are very bizarre, and the lime green is just a turn off.

I quite like the lime green, it adds something different to the programme!

You're right, James. They ruined it when it became "The World". I don't mind the current theme music, but the rest of it is dire. The best era for that programme was 2002-2004.

BBC Four/World News as it was known was the best. The studio and pres was so dramatic and effective and it really tackled an area of news which was relativly left alone here in the UK.
Then "The World" arrived and the plastic fantastic, laminate approach arrived too. It looks and feels wholy out of place. The gfxs look like someones been on powerpoint for an afternoon. The studio used to and to a degree still looks *tacky* Why have them three giant screens? And in terms of the actual bulletin itself, it seems to have changed from a proper news programme into something of a news channels extra, rather than a stand alone bulletin, which it should be!

I really hope someone has the sense to change a few things.
