The BBC lets all the best people go away... I'm also thinking about Anita McNaught.

When did Anita McNaught leave exactly? Did she ever anchor the news from the redesigned newsroom? That's sad she left anyway. I enjoyed the way she closed her bulletins saying "That's all from the BBCWorld newsroom . . . . . for the moment"

I can see slight changes being done to the graphics, and possibly the music, but I do not expect a total rebrand until they move in 2008.

Why 2008? Do really think those changes take place every 4 years? I don't think the current design in the newsroom will last as long as the former one. Almost one year on, I already cannot stand that french flag in the background any more! I no longer stand those tasteless and garish white walls either. From the week that immediatly followed the redesign, I have been demanding and yearning for radical changes to this bizarre, frosty, creepy studio ('cause that's what this newsroom is). The sooner, the better.

Anita McNaught never presented from the new newsroom... I think she left in September 2004. I loved the way she closed bulletins as well.

Agree on your comments about this set, the old newsroom was much better.

Interesting! I just saw BBC News 24's Breaking News Sting on World. It played just as Kirsty showed us latest pictures.

The BBC News Special on the German elections has been extremely good in my opinion: Nik Gowing did a great job always keeping a good pace and also Tristana Moore and Dominic Hughs did good.
Fantastic to see the sunset over the German Parliament behind Nik Going, they couldn't find a better place to broadcast from.
Just a few sound problems with the interpreters but a channel which so often suffers techincal faults wasn't supposed to reach perfection...
Oh, and great stings, I would sell my soul to get the music they played at the end of the News Special.

This was the end of the Special Programme

Viewers in America may be interested to know that BBC World will soon be shown on BBC America for 3 hours every morning. The channel already takes the News programmes during this time but in the near future it will take the entire output so Americans will get there first chance to see WBR and Asia Today

Some editions of NewsExtra aren't shown in every region BBCWorld broadcasts in (e.g. the 1330 CET edition viewers in Asia/Pacific can't watch). But I cannot recall to mind editions that aren't shown in Europe, or editions only broadcast in Asia/ Pacific. This seems to suggest some get more editions than others depending on the part of the world they watch from. Why is it that viewers in some regions get fewer editions? If NewsExtra is aimed at providing viewers with the edge at key times throughout the day , why aren't the editions mostly focused on Europe and which therefore aren't shown elsewhere replaced in Asia by extra ones? Is it to say that Asia Today is reckoned as the Asian equivalent of NewsExtra?
By the way, the 2330 CET edition seems to be screened everywhere, and it often focuses primarily on Asia. Why is it shown in Europe then?
