LOL. Lyndsay Brancher is like Kylie................very funny. Nik Gowing is like Bono. Zeinab Badawi is like Beyonce. Nisha Pillai is Nelly Furtado.

And Anita McNaught is a dead ringer for Sinead O'Connor................hey, hang on a moment........................................

Sinead was still in a real dour mood last night. Just wish she would smile a little bit when saying farewell after the closing headlines.

Come on Martin or someone - give us a split screen comparison between Sinead and Anita.

Anita models her life on that of Servalan, Supreme Commander of the Universe

Why does that sometimes happen - i.e. the overnights come from the World Studio? Is it due to regular and planned maintenance in N24 studio, or what?

Yes

Do they use the red or the orange title sequence when they are in the World studio overnight?

They use the orange sequence when they are in World's studio, can't they sort themselves out with the red generic titles!!!!!!!!!

I can't make my mind up as to whether I prefer the red or orange ones. I think they should keep it as it is -- News 24 red; World orange. That keeps everyone happy! Overnight, I think they should use orange no matter which studio they're in. After all, how many people in the UK are going to notice the difference, compared to the millions watching around the world on BBC World?

I did prefer the orange globe 24 with the yellow 24, I think that overnights the orange title should be used too, but I guess that's what they got loaded in the machine, I just have a feeling that there is also a red globe version of the World's titles sitting on News 24's machine and one day we'll see it come onto screen!

itsrobert - why do the BBC persist with Jake Lynch presenting news bulletins? Saw him overnight doing the N24 / World simulcasts from the World sets. IMO, his diction and pronunciation is somewhat garbled and he is extremely wooden. I hope they can get some suitable replacements - where are the likes of Yates, Croxall, MacKenzie and Osman these days???

Martin - not sure whihc one is La McNaught. Is it - perchance - the one on the left?? Let me study it for a bit longer and perhaps show it around the office to get a consensus of who is who.

Is it case of ice cool maidens, or just sheer grumpy?

I tend not to see the overnight bulletins often, but I did see a Sunday morning in the summer when Jake Lynch was presenting, and thought that he was pretty poor. I was shocked to see him last weekend, and he still hasn't improved! After the titles, he doesn't do a welcome -- he just goes straight into the first link!

I don't think hes too bad really. He makes the odd joke at the end of the programme. Considering he only does one night a week maybe its not enough for him to get settled into it.

I think he is more suited to reporting. Having seen him in the studio being interviewed by Deborah he seems much more at home in that capacity.

I suppose its harding finding people willing to sacrifice a Saturday night out and the best part of a sunday morning! Mind you, saying that... has anyone ever noticed when Susan Osman is on she always looks like shes just in from a night on the town in central London? Laughing

When Jake was a Network North presenter on Tyne Tees Television, he seemed to have more of a personality about him, but these days his presenting skills are incredibly wooden, and barely raises a smile!

Hi all.

It was Clarence Mitchell who did the overnights last night, from the World studio again. He is actually quite good, isn't he? (Especially compared to Jake Lynch, son of Gepeto).

Nice also to see Martine Dennis back on TWT this morning too. Is she back on this more regularly, od merely standing in for David Eades for a few days? I hope that Martine is back as a more permanent fixture on the bulletin. These changes may also explain why Zeinab appeared in the afternoons yesterday, or is Mrs. Gowing away? TWT, itrsrobert, - anyone know?

Highligh ot yesterday on BBC World - WBR with Manisha and Tanya. Manisha was in London doing a piece to camera about the BBC Global 30, and unbeknown to Tanya, her mic (Tanyas) was still switched on, and she let out a very loud achooooo! I am sure Manisha did all she could not to laugh or mention it!

So, even good old Tanya gets the sniffles. She is not as invincible as we thought, huh?

Trying not to talk about the world presenters shifts but as you asked all I know is David did Monday and Martine has done the last two so I guess David is off sick or maybe leave?

I too like Martine but think she only worked well with Tanya on TWT keep it as it is I say.
