I think David Eades is excellent on 'The World Today' him and Sally Bundock have great on screen chemisty and the programmes mix of world news, sports and business is consistant and well produced.

Has David Eades ever presented on News24? I've noticed that unlike other presenters, he actually tells people what will be on both World and 'Domestic' at 6am. A minor point, but it's strange no-one else does it.

I have to say, The World Today and "BBC News from BBC World" which follows it is certainly a better service than the other BBC World bulletins. Perhaps it's the fact that most bulletins are presented by one person which just doesn't really keep me interested.

He did present on BBC News 24 for a short while before moving to The World Today last year.

I feel the service is identical to the rest of BBC World's news programmes -- excellent. The only difference is that the business presenter sits with the news presenter for the opening headlines, but there are the same number of people involved in the morning shift as in every other daytime bulletin. The only place it can get a little dull is after 21.00, when the business news disappears, and the sport is done by the news presenter.

David did that the other day that's right, Adrian Finnagan started it the other week when he was standing in something along the lines of "If you're watching on World stay with Sally and me but if you're watching on domestic UK television its time for Breakfast!".

I'd much rather see a couple of hours of TWT on news 24 in the mornings than Brekfast.

Really it's that I'm basing it on - most of the bulletins I've seen have been after that time.

I'd also like to see TWT continue on News24 until 8am - followed by a new programme "Business Breakfast". Headlines first, then a look at yeasterday's US Markets, the Asian markets, and of course a roundup of business news. The programme would be presented in a similar style to Business Today and World Business Report, but with an extra presenter in an East-Asian City. BBC News 24 really should put more emphasis on Business News, Sky's service isn't particularly good and ITVs is a market board on screen for less time that the sponsor. Perhaps News24 could get more offices tuned into it if it started with a good Business service in the morning, rather than a roundup of last night's Holby City with Breakfast .

Rico Hizon at BBC Singapore is excellent and would be a great double header with Sally Bundock.

In comparison to other news channels (with, perhaps, the exception of CNN International), BBC World is quite good at business news. There's a business update during every daytime bulletin, and there are about 9 editions of World Business Report in 24 hours. Domestically, it's pretty bad - News 24 have a business "chat" every hour, one edition of Business Today and 3 editions of World Business Report, which are pretty useless as they're mostly recorded and shown overnight.

Was delighted to see Nisha Pillai back on screen just a couple of hours ago on BBC World News. Delightful presenter and a very serious one too.

When will they do something with the set though? I know this has been asked a million times, but that "split" desk is looking aged. Hope they can retain the same spot in the newsroom (and not go virtual and proejectionist like N24 and BBC1) but update the desk and the plasma retaining pillars.

Katty Kay and Mike Enbley did an excellent combination of Washington London cast this week. I think it's Katty and Zeinab tonight.

The set does look a bit tatty now, time for a change but not a huge change as the backgorund newsroom really looks fine still, it really is THAT desk!

Anyone see Adrian on TWT this morning having some laughs with Sally Bundock, they are a very good presenting duo for that programme.

I agree entirely. Adrian comes across as a really genuine and nice guy and the presenting chemistry between him and Sally is excellent (in fact he clicks well with all co-presenters).

I have never been comfortable with David Eades as a news presenter. I would far prefer if Adrian would be the permanent anchor. Or even Nisha.

In fact, from memory, since its reincarnation a couple of years ago, I think I can recall having seen Nisha, Martine, Lindsay, Adrian, David E, David J, Anita, Mike and Stephen all having a go on TWT. Is there anyone else that I've missed?

Even Deborah McKenzie had a go recently. I like David though, he's got so much better and is now comfortable ad-libing. Not so keen on Nisha and Anita they are very wooden.

I'd like it if TWT had Adrian and Sally as main presenters with David E and Aaron Hezelhurst as stand-ins.

You could never call Nisha wooden, the way she is always remonstrating with her hands when she is speaking, at every item.

But I agree in that I would settle for Adrian and Sally as the mains, and David E as a stand in.

Aaron though?????????? Volume control!

That's true I suppose you are right. She's ok I guess but not TWT material. Aaron cracks me up with "Hello Everybody" and robotic turns.

I'm not that fussed on Nisha to be honest. I do find she is a bit wooden. Adrian's fab...by far the best on World. That they keep him doing weekends with pretty much relief presenting during the week is ridiculous. There was a great moment earlier this week, where the gallery cut him off mid-sentence with the sport sting. Most presenters would have just awkwardly carried on afterwards, but Adrian lightened the atmosphere with something along the lines of "when you're ready boys". It's what the channel really needs, especially with just having a single news presenter every hour.

As to who else presented TWT - I can think of Geeta Guru-Murthy, Keshini Navaratnam and George Eykyn in addition to the ones mentioned above.

EDIT - another presenter I like is Martine Dennis. She's another presenter who can have a joke when appropriate. Take this morning with the Scottish seabird story.
