Yeah but if you look very closly you can see the current Washington studio (Ala lick of red an white paint...)
Most studios have still got that sting.

Thank you for this insight to the BBC World studios!
Aren't the 2nd and 4th pictures at least one and a half year old? I noticed shots from the former BBC News sting.

That's right. But why is it that although that sting has long been replaced, they still have it? Does that mean it could potentially be reintroduced or is it definetly hopeless? I really think it was 100 times better than the current one with those eels spinning aroung the BBC News logo.

It's probably an emergency static slide - they wouldn't go to the bother of updating that so quickly. IIRC, News 24's emergency announcements were recorded during the flags era - these things are only updated as and when absolutely necessary. I mean, look at some of the regional TV studios and radio stations...they still had the old BBC logo on the outside of the buildings long after it was changed - Radio Merseyside has only just replaced it.

1. itsrobert, thanks for enlightening me on this. I really thought that whenever changes occur in terms of studio designs or logos, they are profund and are well repercutted all the way down.
2. Bail, I'd be interested to know when you captured this shot!
3. At around 1102 CET, a report by Matt Frei about the forcable evacution of the last remaining inhabitants of New Orleans was ended prematurely, because of a technical failure. Mike Embley, then the presenter, said he apologized and announced the piece would be aired again later in the bulletin... In fact it didn't show up and I had to wait till the next edition of BBC News before I was able to watch it, at 1202. Come on Mike, that's not serious!

This new countdown is very good, but I haven't seen it longer than 10 secs, to me this countdown is a little wasted on a channel like BBC World, also it dosen't merge well with the headlines bed, hopefully this "presentation department" will look at things like this and aim to polish BBC World's presentation up a bit.
EY
lol, well ive only seen to short countdowns and they are 11seconds, and a 5second one at the end of "Children of Beslan" all the others are over 20 seconds, highest ive seen was 47
