Mishal usually says "News extra is next except for viewers in Asia who can see Hardtalk."
But at the bottom half hour update, like today she says now News Extra, but Asia gets an ident and hard talk. Just wish the Ident would kick in faster.
And BBC World I understand what your saying, but National really could do with some young, fresh meat (Rapidly sounding like Hannibal Lecteur)
First chance I've had to listen properly to the new breakfiller music this morning and it sounds bloody awful. Lets hope this change see fit to alter the breakfiller.

Always nice to see Ms Husain on our screens. I think shes been doing excellently this morning. Definatly if ever there was a choice of who to move to network, Her and Adrian. Both definatly have this illusive "Presence" which, and lets be honest, almost all on the national bulletins lack.
But one question - How the hell can Tickle Toes be moved to the 6 and the likes of Ms Husain and Mr Finigan just be put on World? Sorry, there really does seem some in justice there.
Oh and one thing thats bugging me - Mishal says News Extras next and yet the Asia feed cuts to Hardtalk. Does my head in!

I noticed him wearing one a couple of weeks ago on his right arm and it was yellow too. Lots of people in my form at school where them, and I did ask once but forgot bout 5mins after they told me.
Is it a special school?
No! And if it were would there be a problem?
The bands are in support of Cancer, A horrible and violent thing to have.
Don't suppose you've met Dylan Moran?

Well she should have said News Extra except for viewers in Asia, but she may have run out of time. The update must be exactly a minute long as the asia ident will fire off automatically.

Wouldn't it have therefore made more sense for Mishal to say 'now News Extra' after the minute so then viewers in Asia could have the ident for Hardtalk instead?

I noticed, though, that he was wearing a yellow fashion band around his wrist. I have noticed loads of people (youngsters mainly) wearing these lately. What's the significance? Plastic rubbery type things.

Is it a special school for those with short memories?
reason I couldnt remember mate, is because I asked him when we were in a crowd of 4 classes and it was rather noisey and I didnt actually hear him properly in the first place.

Well that makes sense considering BBC World is a 4:3 channel, it's pointless broadcasting the news in 14:9. But BBC World have their own pres department at the moment don't they?
No. THere is a presentation area, run by BBC Broadcast, or whoever owns them now, which provides a playout area for the channel. BBC World management want to introduce a presentation department to look after the look of the channel.
Again, I have to disagree with that. 14:9 was designed as a compromise format to doing 16:9 letterbox. The 14:9 bars aren't even visable on a lot of televisions anyways due to overscan, and it allows the viewer to see more of the picture, so I don't see the problem with it.
It makes sense to fill all of the screen when providing a channel you want to sell to others.
I see what you mean now, but it has to be said BBC World have always had a strong on screen look and this without a presentation department!

In September Sian Kevill returns to the channel as Editorial director, after a year away. Sian was the former editor of Newsnight
Richard Porter takes over as acting Head of BBC World News. Richard has been deputizing for Sian in her absence. He was editor of Breakfast.
BBC World is also introducing its own presentation department. There are plans to move some of the architecture of the channel. For instance it is unfortunate that because the News programmes are produced in 16:9 for a 4:3 channel, that all News programmes have black bars at the top and bottom of the picture. There is a project to address this and the results should be on screen sometime in the next couple of months.
