Am I the only person who thinks the new breakfiller music is ghastly? Have they *actually* nicked it from Theme Hospital, or is it just an
homage
? It sounds like it was made on mini electric keyboard, and those *whooshes* during each transition are incredibly irritating.
The 2000 breakfiller (immortalised in MrTomServo's excellent BBC WORLD Headlines tool) was by far the best, and had exceptional music to accompany it. Today's breakfiller is a shadow of its former self.
EDIT: Bizarre. At 0344GMT, the breakfiller started with the previous music; then, with one minute left on the clock, the music suddenly cut from the old to the new, and everything continued as "normal". Most odd.
Whatever happened to MrTomS anyway?

Its not that odd, seeing they havent yet updated the generic pre recorded breakfiller, its happening alot. ie TOTH, when they playing generic breakfiller instead of normal one when theres no seconds left! it switches to normal real one for about half a second!

Wasn't Adrian Finighan absolutely brillian last night!!! Nice to see him filling in for Nik Gowing this week. He has an excellent on screen rapport with his co-presenter.
And he did some brilliant ad-libbing around a story involving a huge tuna that was caught somewhere, and even managed an ons-creen jibe at the gallery staff, who were all yapping in his ear about whether or not said tuna could become sushi.........
"I didn't write this script......but it says here......."
Brilliant. BBC World - wake up and give this guy a permanent slot at primetime. He is an excellent broadcaster.

The on-screen look hasn't changed, just the music.
To give you an idea

It was Adrian Finnegan today who made this quite humurous remark about a rather quasi emotional report about the Iraqi version of Pop Idol. I saw the report earlier this day so I knew where it was all about: that is, a young boy from the troubled city of Mosul who sang about the problems children in this city have to cope with. The report shows the end of the boy's performance in which tears appear on his face. It is said that he has a great chance to win the competition.
Anyway, the sports presenter had just finished with his thing and when Adrian Finnegan came back on screen to introduce the report, he handed over a tissue to the sports presenter, saying he needs it after seeing the following report.
That Mr Finnegan is getting more naughty by the day! But... I can handle that.

Lovely, thanks very much. I like it, sounds good and unlike the previous version sounds quite marketable.
