In Spain where I was on holiday, there was usually one ad break every half hour with 2 or 3 ads but we also got quite a lot of the breakfiller aswell. Luckily, there are no opt-outs in Spain so during all the attempts to bomb London on the 21st, we didn't opt-out like others.

I noticed a few times that all the graphics went off the screen (faded - no animation) and the screen went to a smaller picture with a message telling people "Some viewers now join regional programming" or "Welcome to viewers just joining us". Both had a centred BBC World logo at the bottom. Now, this was when it was broadcasting News 24, so how do World get a clean version of News 24 without graphics (unless News 24 removed graphics for a few minutes).

Yeah, but I would have thought they would just overlay News 24's. I guess they get a clean feed of News 24 then?
Yep I think World have access to a clean feed of News 24, but even the clean feed will have the live aston on it, it's only astons using TOG that can be removed from the clear feed.

To be honest, before I seen them decreasing the screen for a minute I thought they used all the News 24 graphics except the ticker and the tower. How wrong I was... Smile

When World take News24 it is usually routed through the World Gallery. That way World can put on its own ticker. The News24 one is usually very UK centric. World can usually then provide knock backs for stations which join or leave the channel at specific points of the day. These will usually be independent channels like WLIW in America or CHIBA in japan. All regions of BBC World would stay with the core output for braking news. The ad breaks would also be dropped on days such as the London bombing. So World would lose thousands of pounds on a busy news day.

Lol that ad has been used for a while now! but i dont hink they use it a the top of the hour before the next edition.

David Eades doing the 9-13 shift? He almost never appear out of his usual 6-9 shift...

I saw it yesterday before the countdown many times. "World Business Report after the news sponsored by Shell" said a voice. Smile

Late to work perhaps? or couldnt come in because he had something more important?

My god! is Rob Bonnet tall. lol if that was him that I saw walking down the newsroom to the bit we cant see. Adrian was doing an interview with someone to do with King Fahd's funreal and when they showed a wide shot of the both of them I saw him walking along.

Most people your see walking in the background are little!,... well i mean you only really see their chest and head from the red thingee. but Rob was much taller! and he wasnt even that close to the set.

If it wasnt Rob then im not sure. But he was very tall! Smile

Also nice to see the sombre tune played at the end of the Special earlier although I didnt see the beginning i would think they played a sombre intro.

Im 5'9! but yes he did look very tall indeed when i saw him walk through.
And also it may be my imagination but also a woman that walked past looked like Geeta Guru-Murthy but i dont think it was because her fringe was sort of curly.
