I agree that Sissons would be perfect for The World. Although, Zeinab is also excellent. Both of them having cut their teeth on C4 News in fact. Come to think of it, so did Kirsty Lang. Is The World becoming a hang out for former ITN C4 News presenters????

On the subject of The World, I noticed that Peter had a laptop, but when I watched ages ago Zenab did not nor did Mr Gowing (I think it was him).
Is it the presenters choice to have one or the Director at the time?

BBC WOLRD survey on now about 'Presenters'

I don`t think the BBC should ask the audience to express its opinions about presenters so openly and directly...

Erm... why not? Do you think it's better if the BBC just pretends everyone loves everything about it, even if that's not the case, while they lose audiences left, right and centre?

The BBC should care of providing a good service which also means having skilled presenters. But I don`t think they need a survey to determine how good a presenter is. I`m not sure if it`s right to care about the opinion of the audience that much.
Anyway I took part at the survey.

Yes, I did to and I rated who I hated and who I liked, I do feel this is am important survey as BBC LDN said and also because Im sure viewers do care what kind of presenters they are. etc.. i do have another reason but i dont know how to put it!

You're "not sure if it's right to care about the opinion of the audience that much"?! Whose opinion counts, then, if not that of the audience?

Absolutely. If BBC World doesn't consult its audience properly, then they might find their audience looks elsewhere. The obvious alternative for a BBC World viewer is CNN, and I don't think they'd exactly want to give viewers to the opposition!

I thought the survey was a very good idea. It gave us an opportunity to have our say on which presenters we like and which we don't. Hopefully they'll use the information to make the channel better!

I am in Phuket Thailand right now and getting an entirely different digest of the version of BBC World that I normally get in the Middle East. It's amazing what a positive and pleasant difference it makes having less opt outs and missed opt outs, etc.

And not a Qatar Airways ad to be seen in sight....................bliss.

Hello BBC WORLD, I hope you are enjoying your time in Thailand, can I ask are they ads there, or is it totally ads free?

Thanks,
