Well, it's interesting. How could the breakfiller get onto one of the tvs in the background?

The answer is easy: The screen in the background was showing a different region of the world. Ad-breaks are at different times in different parts of the world. So this screen was simply showing a different opt.

Interesting to see the Globle starting at antarctica this hour. doing a full spin so we get a face on look with australia and asia.

I've noticed this with the globe on News24 too - 9 times out of 10 the spin of the globe is the same, usually ending on the Pacific Ocean I think, however sometimes the spin cycle is different. Why?

Also sometimes it seems a different graphics package is used, when the ribbons round the globe have the BBC News logo on it as opposed to wording

At one time, still do it i think lol the globe spin started in the continent of the main story. I remember the bomb in Jakarta late last year the globe started at New Zeland and ended in asia. and other things like that.

I've seen four different opening titles on BBC World today. One in orange with NEWS EXTRA the red bbc world one with LONDON BOMBS the orange TWT one With BBC NEWS and the red bbc world one with the BBC NEWS logo.

When we viewers in Europe were watching live coverage of the press conference from Downing Street at 1700 CET, the tower and the gfx disappeared and we were treated to a caption that welcomed "the viewers joining us from their own regional programming" - Asia Today, I guess, with the video feed been shown in a window.

I think that's quite useless. If actually Asian viewers were provided with their regional programming instead of continuous coverage of major breaking news, there's no need for us in Europe to notice - they could have been warned via breakfiller or by the presenter of the regional programme.

Well when BBC1 joins News 24 at night the news 24 presenter will welcome them. Also when they leave coverage they will say goodbye.

I can't see the problem myself

Does anyone know anything about Adrian Finighan's past career? I saw him on BBC World on my holidays, and rate him very highly, despite the fact he only appears at weekends. Also, when he has occassionally popped up on N24 he has been highly watchable. However, I cannot find anything on the internet about where he was before BBC World. Can anyone enlighten me?

I remember Adrian and his brother Robert working at my home towns short lived ILR station GB Radio (Gwent Broadcasting), that was back in the early 1980's; it used to close down at 7pm as well, but's that for somewhere else Smile

Interesting..
watching BBC WORLD's continuing coverage of the 'London Altert' story, they used the old return from commercial sting with "BBC NEWS BBC WORLD" after the breakfiller at the half hour point.
Has anyone else seen them using this sting recently. i thought they haven't used it since the relaunch and the new set.

In fact, they are using before and after the break. at a quarter to the hour as well.

There's a new background for the chromas used in the offices the BBC has around the world. I just saw it when David Jessel was interviewing a woman in Germany: there was the usual feed from somewhere in the city, but it was behind some kind of "virtual window" with a handrail and a semitransparent red strap - both like the ones in the World studio.

Quite intelligent, really, as it is very difficult to make the lighting in these mini-studios look like it should be. It is a very good idea to show that it is being shot indoor.

This has been round for quite awhile! I remember seeing Tristana Moore sitting there doing an interview a couple of months ago.
