It was ditched in the "April revolution", just three months ago, when News Extra and additional editions (well - additional repeats
) of WBR were introduced.

I seem to remeber it was presented by Nisha Pele(s.p?) the tiltes were quite good If I remeber and had slides from the titles of BBC English Regions i think.

Nisha was the principal presenter. Although, I have seen editions of UK Report also presented by Zeinab Badawi, Adrian Finighan, Anita McNaught (remember her), Geeta Guru-Murthy, Lindsey Brancher.
However, you are correct, that Nisha seemed to have presented more than others. I guess that the only reason for that was that the UK Report programme was recorded at the same time every week, and it happened to be Nisha who was the Duty Anchor at that point in the week.
Same way as the programme "This Week" is always presented by the anchor who does the Saturday morning weekend shift, as opposed to bringing-in a specific presenter to cover that programme.

When do they record This Week? I was watching BBC World some time ago on saturday, and espected the morning presenter, as said, to present This Week. Instaid an other presenter did the program.
Maybe the second one was unable to work and the first one had to take over, after This Week wasallready recorded?

Can you please learn how to write sentences that make sense!
Last week I saw Lucy do This Week im sure Adrian was first on the saturday, although that could of been 2 weeks ago i cant really rembember.
Oh at the moment im really sick of the presenters background! its so black(or blue) and boring.
take a look now, its just tv screens and sometimes that white part on the wall! http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/bbcworldcaps/hockings43.jpg
here is a look at the old look. much better to look at, same tv screens and all but just nicer with the posts. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/bbcworldcaps/husain20mishal11.jpg
Oh and these shots are the ugliest!
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/bbcworldcaps/news20.png
As with the old newsroom, the main presenters shot never really changed as the camera practically never moved. I just wish they would keep the camera angles permanent! So for the current newsroom this pic below would be the best shot for a permanent camera postition!

I am sure that "This Week" is recorded at approx 0830hrs London Time on a Saturday morning. Marcus may be able to confirm or deny this.
Thanks,
James
(BBC World 2005 - your images are not working above. (Or I can't see them anyway. ))

Her name actually is Dharshini but she is almost always credited as Darshini... anyway I`m very glad to hear that she`s in New York now... I would love to see her but unfortunately I have been in Japan for the last 3 weeks and I don`t have access to BBCWorld....

Watching an edition of WBR before and they crossed to New York where Darshini was there of course and her name happened to shoot up on an aston and I noticed it was Dharshini David it has an h! unlike the way most of us splet it without!..
And did anyone notice how lit up the main presenter was? It looked shocking on David Jessel but pretty good on Anya Sitaram and Nik Gowing. It did infact sometimes look like they were in CSO but were not!

Hope you do notice that that's the same as the first image you provided.... just a little bit to the left.

I'm aware of that! but if you look at it half the screen is tv's the other is not, and most of the time you always see most of the tv's making the shot practically black. and you also dont have to see the reflection of light on the screen they use to seperate the set from the newsroom.

All the extra editions of WBR are live
I thought all editions of WBR shown after 2300 CET and through the night are repeats, and quite a few of them were added in April (for example, at 2345 -after News Extra- and 0230 CET).
I might be mistaken, anyway.

Thats ashame that computers are pretty much in charge of the service. The channel is not what it was just a few years ago. Marcus, can we expect a new set of presenters in the fall for the washington bulletin? Im rooting for Adrian to be sent to Washington. No offense to Katty or Mike, in fact Mike use to be my presenter on Newsroom SouthEast, but they're really not distinctive.

Well a lot of the problems are due to BBC Broadcast using technology that doesn't work that efficiently. The BBC has long decided that automation is the way to go and many of the processes in the broadcast chain are controlled by computers.
I would guess CNN still has a full gallery. In the USA the broadcast unions are very strong and would not allow the reduction in manpower which comes with the automation of the service.
The BBC service is much cheaper to run, unfortunate it shows on screen sometimes.
If you feel so strongly email Richard Porter, the editorial director of the channel, with your comments.

Yep I agree, BBC World is a shadow of it's former self, five years ago, it was the ultimate BBC News channel really, it was doing everything right, now you can tell the channel is run by robots.
