Watching an edition of WBR before and they crossed to New York where Darshini was there of course and her name happened to shoot up on an aston and I noticed it was Dharshini David it has an h! unlike the way most of us splet it without!..

And did anyone notice how lit up the main presenter was? It looked shocking on David Jessel but pretty good on Anya Sitaram and Nik Gowing. It did infact sometimes look like they were in CSO but were not!

Mondayevening I saw Dharshini for the first time presenting fom New York, and she looked great!! By the way does this mean Tanya Becket will be back in London? (hope so) I didn't notice the brighter lighting, but David Jessel doesn't have thelooks even in dimmed light, I prefer Nik Gowing and Alistair Yates above him. (what's CSO?)

Even if the presenters don't listen to the director or they can't hear him, there must be someone behind the camera's who can point out which camera to turn at. Maybe better teamwork?

There is no floor manager at weekends. The cameras are all remotely operated by the director in the gallery. The presenter is totally on their own on the set. They even have to print their own scripts and help put the microphones on the guests.

They do however get a red light on the top of the camera which is on air.

With everything in mind and from presentation point of view, BBC World has taken a turn for the worst. Unlike CNN which is seamless when watching, World is quite the opposite with all those breaks for opting out. Music is not matching the animations. On top of that, the news bulletins are very slow, not fast paced like news 24 where there is atleast some action. I think what would really help is having 2 presenters for some bulletins.

What Im wondering though is if Mike Embley and Katty Kay will be replaced by a new set of presenters for the washington/london bulletins? I hope they bring Adrian Finighan to Washington!

I've just saw the TV Schedule for tonight and it is saying that:
2000CET News
2030CET Hardtalk
2100CET News (The World I think)
2200CET News

Look! Nothing at 2130! Can it happen?

21:30 can be regional programming or BBC News Extra or BBC News Special.

It happens a lot actually (that they forget to print or publish a segment of the schedule).

Well, it should be "Tales from Europe". I saw it at around 19:28 (before the breakfiller cracked down Shocked ) that it is Tales from Europe. But there will be a special programme at 21:51 CET -> Discovery's launch. So there can be some interference. Rolling Eyes

Presentation wise BBC News 24 really is tops, BBC World has gone the other way now, lack of consistancy in the titles is for me the most annoying, shame 5 years ago, the presentation was awesome.

It was ditched in the "April revolution", just three months ago, when News Extra and additional editions (well - additional repeats Rolling Eyes ) of WBR were introduced.
