FCUK! Was it just me or was the long BBC World Ident played before Sport Today? I was gonna ask last week if anyone had heard it lately and just before was my second time hearing it on tv. The first time I heard it was on the relaunch day!
world long ident here is the tune of the long ident if youve never heard it!

oh and did anyone else know that the current Hardtalk aston was used before the relaunch? I was just watching an old video earlier which had bbc world on it and it ha the current aston, before the realunch! lol

In the last 5 or 6 days, I've noticed several problems with the breakfiller (which I dislike) and regional opt-outs: I've seen the template without text or video (but with audio and a BBC World caption in the place where the video appears); no next / in 30 mins information at all; and tonight, ads appearing in the middle of a filler report (those shown during regional opt-outs).

Other irregular issues these days have been: the usual problem with the headlines aston (the "do not touch" thing), three www.bbcworld.com ads played one after the other, and the News 24 multi-colour ticker shown during the coverage of the Trafalgar anniversary.

And why is Aaron Heslehurst again at WBR at this time of the day, considering that he was also presenting circa 1200 GMT today (10 hours ago)!!
I was watching that but then the Hotbird feed went down altogether during the Trafalgar anniversary, but before it went down I saw BBC News 24 weather on BBC World, did World opt out late?

I agree - Adrian continues to excel, and is getting better and better. I still amazes me how Eades has managed to last so long on this prime programme, considering BBC World has far more talented and suitable presenters for this programme.

I disagree in this point - I think that Adrian Finighan gives a sad feel to the channel (maybe because he mainly does weekend bulletins and therefore he can't interact with his business and sports mates). He makes my "sad couple" in the channel (the other half is Martine Dennis).

Lucy Hockings is one of my favourites. The fact that it she is used quite often isn't a problem for me; I find her quite sweet and lively. Aaron Heslehurst is also growing on me (a non-native English speaker -as I am- might link this idiom with aliens Laughing), but I admit that it looks like he is undergoing a caffeine overdose.

Moving to other presentational topics... Lately, the Murphy Law applies to the moments when presenters decide which camera to talk at - they are always wrong. It would be interesting to know what's happening in the gallery... Rolling Eyes

And in the "Breakfiller - Why?" series, one more mistake to add to our endless list: in a 20 minutes past break, it was announcing HardTalk Extra as "next", when actually BBC News should be in that place - the bulletin had not finished yet.

[Answering to previous posts - I don't have access to CNNi and I only watched the Trafalgar special for a while, because my TV was full of sparklies due to heavy storms.]

Mishal Husain was bussy today. Before I went to work, I saw her on BBC1 breakfast, and when I got home she's also presenting on BBC World. Nice to see Lucy afterwards, she rarely presents at that time.

Also there were a lot of screwups regarding sound and camera's.
Could be that a lot of staff and personnel are on holiday?

No there's no holiday here, I have seen worse though, I remember a whole afternoon, when we just could not hear the headline vamp, it made Stephen Cole look stupid.

Adrian is an excellent newsreader, indeed. I think Martine Dennis IS one of the best presenters and i would like Lucy, too - Iff she could put on a more "standard" accent and not bob about so much...

EDIT - Got Adrian's name wrong!

Adrian has possibly the best interaction between biz and sport presenters, thats why he suits weekday slots because he always has a quick convo in his head to have with other presenters. I say keep him for weekdays as he is the best they have. His handovers are the best out of anyone, and you compare that to Kirsty lang, who says 'Now time for sport with XXXX XXXX" and when the other presenter hands back its a quick. "thank you"

weekend presenters should be, Lucy, Kirsty, Mishal
weekdays should be, Adrian, Lindsey, Martinne, Nik and Alistair.

Dear Lucy Hockings,

I hope you are not working too hard, because when I saw you last night on BBC News Extra, introducing your interview with the European Chief Commissioner, you looked extremely pale, thin and unwell. I hope you get well soon. Don't overdo it!!

Kind regards,
James
