Is the backdrop on WBR New York fake or is it actually a real window?
It's a real window, for now anyhow!
WBR comes from the Reuters building in Times Square so all the backdrop is real. They have a number of studios that overlook the Square. The WBR team will move into a new BBC NY office which will house business, news and other BBC operations all under one roof, rather than the number of offices they have at the moment. The new studio will not overlook Times Square but it will have a new multi purpose studio for all outlets to use.
Is it a real window? I thought it was absolutely fake, in the camera shot used when the presenter interviews someone it looks as it was a screen...
You can tell its not fake... well i can anyway. When im looking at the presenter its as if the camera is up high looking down on them so they get a shot of the square not a bare building... and the presenter looks as if they are looking up at the camera... very annoying shot to be honest.

Apparently, a new studio will debut on WBR as the BBC in New York move to a new location sometime this month.

There's no fixed salary for a presenter on BBC World. They are calculated on experience and the number of days worked per year. Some presenters are contracted to work 200 days a year with others doing 100-150. Those are the minimum days, and some presenters will work more. However, if they work less, they'll still be paid the guaranteed minimum.
Experience determines the daily rate - usually somewhere between £300 and £500 per day . So, it can work out that a younger, less experienced presenter will earn as much in a year as an older, more experienced one, depending upon the number of days worked.
Hope that's interesting.

That's very interesting. To be honest I didn't think that earned that much...

Why? They are somewhat at the top of their profession. Not that much compared to other professions.................(and after tax).

Yesterday Manisha Tank was up at 1600GMT, then at 1700 Jamie Robertson. Who did the rest of the shift?
HA
Manisha Tank in the afternoon? is it me or is World's astons getting more transparent by the week?
Why didn't BBC News 24 let them download their TOG software, as BBC News 24's astons are working perfectly.

Seems quite ironic, In a way. BBC World also used to have the far more effective and stylish presentation, which seemed to work very well but of late News 24 seems to be filling that void and with them all having the same sound and look its slowly been turned into a dodgy version of N24.
But it is nice watching BBC World News every morning at 9.30. Nicest agenda IMO.
