The full-time presenter is Zeinab, with Kirsty presenting whenever she is away. I believe that Zeinab was away at the end of last week because she was filming a World Debate special in Boston.

I don't mind the countdown, but the music is out of sync!!!!

They should show more of it, we only get 16 seconds if we are lucky.

Thanks Scottish. I actually saw the trail for the World Debate, which was presented by Zeinab in USA. Just after that, Kirsty lang presented The World again last night.

Does anyone know the reasons behind this switch? Was Kirtsy unpopular with the viewers, or was it just an injection of freshness into the programme?

I far prefer Zeinab anyway, over here two predecessors (George and Kirsty).

Looks like the transponder carrying BBC World on Hotbird has gone down, and only a still picture on Astra1, anyone else having problems, transponder signal is strong.

Asia Pacific is fine at this moment, suggust a problem with Globecast.

Kirsty has been doing a lot of presenting on Radio 4 so is not available to so so much of The World.

Does anyone know what happened to Lindsay brancher? I haven't seen her presenting in ages. Besides who is in charge of the presenter line up? latelly it has been inconsistent, it would be nice to see a variety of presenters; it will certainly make the channel more different to other news channels such as cnn.

Its always good to watch the end of TWT before the top of the hour because the presenters slowy fade away into the closing titles. And today was a lillte bit funny lol... it went like this.

Just watching World and Kirsty handed it over to Darshini for business and they had the right hand to us wide shot and the shot didnt go to darshini it remained on wide shot. So darshini started reading us the business with Kirsty still in shot.

Kirsty put her pen down and put her hands over her face and when removed her hands away she realised she was still on. Then she quickly tried to look all professional.

I dont like Kirsty very much. I think she is rather rude in a way!

During the Asian Tsuanami, if I remember rightly, She was cut too with a technican sorting her mike out before she put her hand on his face and shuffed him to the floor, whilst the other presenter was still handing over. You can just about make out the technician groaning in the background.
