I noticed yesterday that the short weekend summaries had BBC News (TOP - MIDSCREEN) and BBC World (FOOTER).

However, the full length bulletins were in reverse. i.e. BBC World (TOP -MIDSCREEN) and BBC News (FOOTER).

Don't have any idea why they have changed it, but I kinda like it. It adds more prominence to the brand name.

The summary titles are pre-rendered, hence they are still orange and have "BBC WORLD" at the bottom. Same with the titles of "The World Today". They are still orange aswell.

I do agree, but they need to decide, because there is no consistancy in this which is obviously noticeable in the weekend as they use the mixture of the two,

I find it amazing really that they allow this mess to continue so long before sorting it out. Especially during the week-ends, we have an orange globe with "BBC News" in the center one hour and the next it all turns red with "BBC World" appearing in the middle of the screen.
Also, the previous version of tOG-3D (and the pre-rendered titles) used a rather nice "special effect" to fade in the words, which is now gone...
Although the graphics of World are much smoother after this update (especially the ticker and opening titles), shouldn't they have made the final tweaks in the lab before going production? Undoubtedly it is a complex piece of software, but changing the colour of an object isn't exactly rocket science if you ask me (or at least it shouldn't be)...

What's incredibly annoying is that when they run the News Extra titles, the globe is back to orange, and it says BBC News at the top again with BBC World at the bottom, run using the previous TOG, therefore it's all jittery, I'm sorry to say this, but this is a complete and utter shambles.

Yes, the channel is completely falling apart thanks to this minor graphics discrepancy.

Quite. I doubt very much that the average viewer would even notice. It's only anally-retentive types with too much time on their hands that give a t*ss

It's the main titles, of all things this has to be right, as it's their main programme and at this moment it's either BBC World from BBC News or BBC News from BBC World, it's not minor, it's major.

Ooohhhhhhhh friends. Come on now! The BBC World Thread is a place of sanctity and goodwill to all. Let's not have it degenerate into an unfriendly rant and rave. Points can be made objectively and forcefully, whilst remaining at all times polite.

Poor Nisha Pillai will be having panic attacks whilst she is reading this (I am sure she DOES read it..........)

Anyway, did anyone see Nik Gowing live in Moscow last night, introducing the bulletin by saying: "This is BBC News from BBC World. I am Nik Gowing in London...........er, um sorry, in Moscow...."

It was a split screen affair, with David Jessel also in vision in London, waiting to do his intro after Nik's. He managed to do so calmly, with only the mildest of smirks......

And Manisha is back to her regular shifts again after the re-jig during the election campaign. Jamie was on The World Today. So, where is Sally..............??

Sally replaced Declan on Breakfast, and IIRC was on yesterday.
